Im just saying in general. the bookie from what I under stood takes the line from the day before the game when it is posted. I wasnt talking about pickems.

Lockie and Alie where never in the competition this year so using them as any kind of example isn't a fair comparison. Alie has been the holder for a few years now.
Wilson compared to Herbert isnt much either because they pretty much come in the same class same star ranking as far as I know same time on campus. The fact that Jonsen went from potentially 1st to from what I have heard 4th in the last 2 weeks makes me wonder if something else happened.

Wilson was there for spring camp and Herbert didn't come in until Summer. No idea why, but that article (obviously you didn't read it) stated Wilson was in the mix during spring camp with Jonsen.

That article simply says Herbert is impressing them and learning at a very fast rate. It's more about his quick progress than the other two, but that is still an indictment on both of those other QB's.

either way Wilson and Herbert are both true frosh so im still not seeing an issue. Herbert could just as well have been in the mix then at spring ball had he been there. from what I have heard Herbert has a big arm, moves well, and has learned fast.
Mariota wasnt named back up to Thomas but took over the next year over prior back up Bennett. Im not a coach and not at any of these practices so if thats how its playing out then thats what it is.

Watching the preview shows they talk about "last time Alabama was preseason ranked #1 They finished 11-2 and #7" and such narrative. Made me think about other such stats. At least for the Pac schools.
Obviously I know there are factors such as schedule and injuries but just something to look at.
Last time Stanford started #7 2011 finished the season 11-2
Last time UW started #14 2000 finished 11-1
Last time UCLA started #16 1992 finished 6-5
Last time USC started #20 2002 finished 11-2
Last time Oregon started #24 2004 finished 5-6

You dont see an issue because Oregon has masked the issue for two straight years now. Where would have the Ducks season gone if they had to go with one of those two QB s you had last season who arent even near the depth chart this year ? What would be the predictions if those two and what you have now where your only options[without the rental)? So getting the rentals has masked the issue. What happens if the rental gets hurt?
