Straight up, the loser wears an AVI of the winners choice (tasteful). The spread plays no role, just winning matters. So a last second field goal, or a blown call on a leap over the goal line are irrelevant, only the final score being higher for one team than the other.

Prukop named the starting QB. Color me shocked.

Seriously though, the backup is Justin Herbert? What happened to the other guy oly kept telling us was fighting for starter with DP? Didn't even make it as backup?

Ducks backup is a true frosh that only joined the team this summer. Beat out two other guys including Jonsen who was supposed to be in a battle for starter.

And the fierce competition to be the starter produced a backup that wasn't even in that contest.

In other words, there was no competition at all. If Jonsen (or the other kid) was that close throughout the process one of them would be the backup. Instead a true freshmen only on campus for a couple of months was named the backup over both of them.

Wonder how confident Oly and the others are now that they do have a backup more competent than Lockie was.

It really is amazing how many problems they have had finding and developing competent QB's. Staggering you might say.

Interesting. From what I recall Alie did decent in his time on the field last year. Either he and Jonsen stank it up in camp or the frosh tore them up. Interested to see what things will look like this season.
