4-star DE Levi Onwuzurike (Allen,TX) has committed to Washington. His final choices were also Baylor and Michigan.

Hell yes. Another PAC recruit who didn't fall for :harbs:
When asked about it he said "Coach Harbaugh was great but he wouldnt't spend the night so I just had to go another way"

4-star CB Byron Murphy (Scottsdale, AZ) has committed to Washington. Had over 1000 yds receiving as a WR his senior year so could play both ways for the Dawgs. Rivals ranks him as the nations No. 40 prospect so he would be the highest rated recruit landed by the Petersen staff since arriving at Washington.

:suds::thumb::yes::cheer2::director:

With the 2016 class including DBs Murphy, Isaiah Gilchrist, and Kentrell Love, I believe that's it for the backfield since we're taking a small class size this year. Coach Jimmy Lake is doing an amazing job in that department since he arrived on the staff. Husky pass D will be looking good for years to come.

And also on that note, I would have to believe that CB David Long who was also a top target after his decommittment from Stanford will be announcing he's going to Michigan at 3pm today. Washington was his other final choice and still wish we could land him too.

Yeah the Murphy story is the top of the news on all the recruiting sites and is considered to be the biggest surprise of this class in national recruiting.

“Coach Lake is really a good guy and I love everything he does," Murphy told Rivals.com recently. "And with coach (Chris) Petersen, it's not just about football. It's about life and everything else. That was a big plus for me.
"Facilities and the players -- I text with them, too -- they're like my brothers. I feel good with them."

This is another big blow to Graham who was already criticized for missing out on the states #1 prospect in recent years.

Washington just cracked the top 30 for the class on 24/7. Given it was going to a small class this year, projected to be around 17 schollys, so it's been tough to get a gauge on how we would finish, but Petersen and the coaches continue to live up to the rep of finishing strong with its classes.

Really nice looking class and plenty of them can properly redshirt & develop given how much experienced talent returns this year.

Looking good. Go Dawgs!!!

David Long did commit to Michigan today as expected.

Nice to know the Huskies class isn't finished yet either. Couple more slots awaiting and more visits planned to LOI.

Go Dawgs!!!!

Rivals
Landing the 5-foot-11, 167-pound Murphy is a major coup for Petersen, whose defense led the Pac-12 Conference in many statistical categories last season. On the other side, it's a blow to Todd Graham, who failed to keep the state’s top prospects home in recent recruiting cycles, most notably losing Murphy’s former teammate Christian Kirk to Texas A&M last year.
I don't know why you take everything so personally. It wasn't an attack on you, nor a diss of your team. It was simply stating what stories are saying about this latest blow to ASU's recruiting.

Every school loses out on players and gets their own coups. ASU still has at least one 5* worthy recruit in this cycle from inside the state.

That was a simple question, Wiz, which you didn't answer. Rivals? Really.

From AZ Central: "After an impressive showing in the Under Armour All-American Game, Chandler's N'Keal Harry has been elevated to the No.1 wide receiver in the country in the final 2016 football player rankings by Rivals100". Harry and Murphy were team mates.

Harry, 6-foot-3, 211 pounds, committed to Arizona State in November. Looks like Graham can weather any criticism about that.

So you are shocked I quoted a Rivals article about recruiting? :L

Follow college football much? :noidea:

There were other stories that also mentioned his missing top talent from the state in prior years. Yes, I did answer your question, but it seems you don't care for that answer. Fine by me. Move on then.

Beneath surface stability, Pac-12 has issues on and off field
Pretty detailed look at various issues on and off the field for the conference as a whole by ESPN's Pac12 sr reporter Ted Miller.

General theme is other conferences are passing us up in terms of revenue, there doesn't appear to be a way for us to catch up in those numbers outside of finally settling the issues with Direct TV, No team was in the playoffs this year and forecasts aren't looking good for any next year either. Lots of coaching upheaval in the coordinator and position ranks, even if there wasn't much action at the HC level. 7 teams changing starting QB's and a general lack of national star power names is another concern.

Worth a read if you like his stuff. He's not everyone's cup of tea.
