It depends on how long it takes to get your guys and what you do with them and you better look like you're improving.Chip made so many head scratching moves that you better win and win good or you look like an idiot. So him winning more his first year than year three after shaking up the roster makes him look bad.
When Pete wins 7 his first year and wins 11 his second it make shim look like hes going in the right direction. When Chip wins 10 his first year and then fails to make the playoffs in that weak ass division. Well that doesn't look like the right direction. Taking and comparing both coaches three year total wins and losses doesn't give you a true picture.
Na Pete was 7-9 and 1st in the NFCW then 7-9 and 3rd before running off 11+ the next few

right and they gave CK the keys just this last off season. so his moves, while I agree some were questionable, might have made more sense in 2 years instead of a few months later.

Agree. Nothing definitive has been said, but I'm thinking this is about a lot more than just wins and losses. When you consider that Chip seemed to piss some people off and combine it with questionable personnel moves, it seems he made the wrong people mad and having a losing record gave them an excuse. Sometimes it's about a clash of personalities/egos. Same thing happened with Jimmy Johnson in Dallas and he even won 2 Super Bowls.

It will be interesting to see what happens with him. Ive seen where he doesn't like the NCAA and dealing with parents and stuff like that.

Out here, one of the sports talk shows all but has Mora gone to the Dolphins and Chip to the Bruins. I'd be surprised if Mora left, he seems pretty invested right now and I'd be even more surprised if they ponied up the money it will take to get Chip.

Even if UCLA loses Mora, I think they could land someone more suited for that program than Dousch Kelly. I think Mora should stick with UCLA. UCLA is finally building a very nice practice facility/FOC that will make the recruiting pitch a lot easier.

Why would UCLA need a gimmick coach like Kelly? LA schools need NFL style coaches to keep all the NFL caliber recruits that are in California

Is Kelly a gimmick coach or not? Sorry, gimmick is too harsh of a word for the 13 people who like him, a system coach

Forward pass was a gimmick when it first came out. Option, triple option, screen passes, pretty much anything that wasnt done before can be considered a gimmick

Not sure if I got this correct, but did the PAC12 runner up just lose to the 5th place B1G team? or would you call them the 6th place B1G team? you decide...inquiring minds want to know why you're trying to be SEC Jr.

You know that shit Big 10 West that you all laugh at....

2-0 against the best of the best in the Pac 12.

Maybe Iowa can make it a complete sweep in the Rose Bowl while the Big 10's best two teams are playing elsewhere.

We'll see how big you're talking after week 3 next season.

I'm guessing he'll stick to the Nebraska board and not bother with the pac thread after that one...
