Release the Kraken - Fuck the Canucks
Not sure UW can pick just one. Warren Moon is a HOF QB, but due to the black QB barrier in the 80's he spent half of his career in Canada. He also was a JC transfer so he didn't have as many seasons as he could have.
Mark Brunell was part of our championship team, but was hurt part of that year and was probably a better pro than college player because of it.
Marques Tuiasosopo was a fan favorite and lead the team after the Don James era to a RB win and was one hell of a gritty ball player.
Honorable mention to Sonny Sixkiller. Not only for the coolest name, but in the era of the QB he was a stand out QB. Had he been a few years earlier or a few years later he would have had a lot more national attention, but it's difficult when you are playing at the same time as Archie manning, Joe Theismann, and Jim Plunkett. He turned the UW program around from a 1 win team to like 6-4 in his sophomore season and went on to hold most UW passing records by the time he graduated.
If pressed I guess I'd take Moon. His '78 team I believe it was that upset Michigan in the RB to hand James his first major bowl win was the beginning of something huge on Montlake. He was the RB MVP that year. Hard to not take him.
