That's only way UW & WSU fans could see a bowl

Haha, set myself up for that one. But doesn't change the fact that the only way it sells out is if it one of the NW schools against SC. Possibly ASU but no other fan base travels. Stanford couldn't sell out a freaking home game. Cal and Stanford don't have fans so it wouldn't be a home game just a shorter bus drive for the players.

The Stanford game along with the basketball tournament in LA was an embarrassment to the league but it doesn't seem to matter. The 4 year plan was the best in my mind or work with UNLV and get them to add some seats. Like I said in the other one they need to make the games more fan friendly to actually build a Pac-12 fan base. I know we will never be like the SEC and cheer for our hated rivals or have Colorado or Cal pretending they won the championship because another teams success but having interest is something the conference needs.

But hey every SEC venue is a home game cause they can hook up their single wides and park in the parking lot.:laugh3:[/QUOTE]

From a revenue standpoint, Stanford owning and winning the Pac the past 2 years is bad for the conference. They don't travel well at all and can't sellout CCG's when they play in them, especially when they host it at their own stadium. 30K vs. UCLA? WTF? That is flat out pathetic.

It has more symmetry, so to speak. It's the same all the way around, like Atlanta, NOLA, Orange, Rose, Charlotte, Indianapolis, and other venues. Ohio State, Oregon, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, and a few other places are uneven (not saying that's a bad thing, helps home field advantage)-- kinda like what the 49ers new stadium will be. But it doesn't look like a "neutral" stadium.

symmetry is boring as fuck

i'm glad to see the san fran design ditches it

1. Community colleges don't count.
2. Get back to me when you have actually set foot on the plains and seen the "scenery".

Until then :stfu:

the stadium was ok, but the town sucked (i was there around 2000 or so)

It's easy to ride the train into the city but that doesn't change the fact they're basically making it a home game for Cal or Stanford. It's fucking dumb

SEC champ game in georgia isn't too big of a deal as far as "home games" are concerned

i wouldn't worry too much about it

Funny thing is if a 7-5 Cal team beats a 12-0 Division champ, the PAC will wonder why they made the change

I already ask (although the answer is money). It's stupid.

If they're going to do these idiotic games they should take the two teams with the best records and do away with the dumb divisions.

Well looks like AT&T has officially bought DirecTV. I really hope we can FINALLY get the PAC 12 network up and running on there. I'm tired of having to find alternative ways of watching games although from reports I've read, it still may not happen until the spring time of next year; hopefully not. Make it happen Larry!

quick spring round up
Oregon men and women won the conference track titles again.
baseball is still finishing regular season so no real update.
Softball is on to super regionals meaning the last 16 teams. Oregon, UCLA, Arizona, Washington have all advanced. Arizona State was the only team eliminated.
USC and UCLA are in the final four for mens tennis and could end up playing for title.
Stanford and UCLA are in the final four for womens tennis and could end up playing for the title
Stanford reached mens final in volleyball and lost.
Stanford women won the water polo title over UCLA
Golf is in regional play and i dont know how they advance but I know Stanford won and oregon was second in the Eugene regional on the mens side. Washington was second in theirs.

It still baffles me that UW has such a great golf program. I mean it rains up here so much. Who would come to this region to play their golf career? :noidea:

I know we have one of the best golf coaches in the country from what we are told. I mean it's obvious the kids who come here do so because of what he can teach them. Still it's a hell of an achievement to lead a golf team in the rain capital of the country and do so well with it.

Actually the Northwest has some fantastic links, I do not act "proper" when I'm on these courses (Apparently you can't drink beer like I do and there have been some cart mishaps) so I'm pretty much banded from the courses, which makes me an outsider, but I hear that Washington to be exact has some of the toughest courses in the US....

Ok, here is the story. While 21 just out of school and working at a very large Indian casino down here as a blackjack dealer, I met this guy that played huge money and always talked golf. At the time I played a few rounds a week.

We started hanging out after work having beers and just shootin the shit.

Well, it turns out he was a famous bank robber that had been hitting banks from Eugene to Salem. He was called the UofO bank robber. He wore a Ducks bucket hat and or a dress when he robbed banks.

They arrested him on the golf course that I was supposed to be on with him, but I cancelled 15 mins prior to T time.

I am on phone or I would post link. I'm sure it's easy to find.

And yes, he did golf at UW because I saw his team photo. Guy was incredible on the course.

Of course. Why wouldn't a story about a UW athlete not end in his arrest coming from a duck?

It was crazy. He built and designed bridges. He didn't need money. I saw his blueprints. Guy had tons of swag. The ladies loved him. Guys wanted to be his buddy. And he robbed I believe 5 banks before they got him. All within months of each other. He was gambling thousands of it. Crazy.

Right, so the moral of the story is when you graduate from a legit school and have a promising career ahead of you don't go to Oregon and answer the sirens song of their casinos. They will suck the life force right out of you.

Come gamble in our little casinos instead. You won't get rich, but you won't be driven to rob banks either.

If I advised that I'd be out of a job. I mean I might be more in IT these days, but it's still the gamblers that pay my salary. Hate the volatility of this industry, but on top of managing a full network and all of its components I also get to build surveillance rooms and manage all of their digital equipment. I like building digital recorders and monitor walls. Don't put me out of business and make me go back to just the boring old IT work elsewhere.
