Wow. Cougs could be bowl eligible next week if they beat Utah. It's at WSU so got to like their chances. Problem is there isn't enough bowls available, but still. Pirate capt is making progress.

USC crowd looked good tonight. Reminded me of their heyday.

Sad to see Stanford lose.

At least this demonstrates how bad USC was with Lane Kiffin as head coach.

Ed Orgeron is making a case to be the head coach next year. USC fans, what do you think of the idea? He is 5-1 since taking over and USC has looked a lot better. He may not be a superstar but so far he has been getting the job done.

My call is he's retained as a lead recruiter and assistant. But USC just declared they are going to pay a kings ransom to the new head coach and staff. Believe Sumlin and Del Rio are their two main candidates right now. But Del Rio situation is very complicated and he may have to turn them down.

I would have no problem if we keep Orgeron as head coach. He understands the culture and tradition of USC and he loves the school. More importantly, his players love him and are showing they are willing to truly give everything they have for him.

That defense used a total of 2 substitutes all game long, was running of fumes for much of the 2nd half and yet they just kept making play after play. As much as I defended Kiffin, there is no way that he inspires that kind of effort like Coach O did.

Ultimately, this will be a business decision as it should be. I believe that if Coach O wins out (including a bowl game) he will be very difficult to replace however.
