He made it sound as if UW was his dream job too. There have been plenty of college coaches who leave their college "dream job" in exchange for the NFL. If and when the NFL comes knocking on Sark's door, I don't think he will be able to resist the allure if he has been at USC for at least 4 years.

Dude he's from so cal he's also seen what kinda love he would get if he won here.. If you believed UW was his dream job you aren't very bright.

If anything the past four years have taught SC fans( most of us) that it's not gonna happen in one year( getting back ). But We've been seeing what the interest in top recruits are with USC now that SC will be able to take a full class. No longer do they have to hope that a certain player works out because they have no one close to step in . They will be able to take enough to miss on a few prospects and not have a hickup. As far as the whole 7 win Sark thing it's kinda funny that you all cling to that but seriously with Lane and two replacements and playing 14 players on defense and having walkons they pulled out of the sports information office at WR they still won 10.

I've said there is the potential for Sark to win a conference title just based on pure quality of athletes your school gets, just not this year.

IF UCLA falls down and seriously under performs, AND ASU has another late season melt down, AND Rich Rod can't make great use of that incredible receiving corp, AND USC doesn't have substantial injuries, AND USC can get up to speed on a brand new offense with new schemes and tempo on both sides of the ball in year one of a brand new system, THEN yes you could theoretically win the south.

I'm simply saying I don't see that perfect storm coming for them this year.

That some USC fans aren't as pessimistic on this season as the rest of us isn't a shock. Every fan base is more optimistic than reality likely dictates in the off season. Ours included.

:suds:

this is Wiz hedging his statements. So if Sark succeeds @ SC it is because "anyone can do it"

If he doesn't then "he was right and told us all so"

You are bound to be right. And for it..... I give you a cookie.....

mcnabb, you trying to argue with a duck about the QB position? You do know they all believe Mariota is the second coming of christ right? You might be able to have a real discussion with TF12, Vita, even a sober wallace (is there such a thing :noidea:), but trying to have one with a duck is an exercise in futility.

I wonder how many of them who also hate the Seahawks would say Wilson is average because of the team around him, but say Mariota is by far the best QB in the nation and discredit what has been around him?

No one is saying he sucks, but if you dare say we have other very good QB's in the conference you are in for a shit storm of unfiltered homerism.

Not arguing Wiz, open dialog, I'm sure he'll pin it and hold it over my head if the Beavs offense sucks, ( which I would do to him as well) I wouldn't believe myself a few weeks ago, but watching some of the games from last year and seen for myself that this kid took a ton of shots, (by opposing defenses) and still managed to complete 66% of his passes, plus ( of course the speculation on my part) that I'm almost positive he was told to get the ball in Cooks hands 90% of the time, and you can see it, he forced stuff, (don't blame him since he didn't want to get hit anymore)

did you guys get together this morning and plan a trolling effort on the PAC thread?

If not, why didn't you invite me to the crack smokin party?

Beavs best offense and Hundley best QB......:stephena:

What is next? Colorado vs WSU in the PAC CCG?

Do you not understand the words "if", or "serious competition"? I mean, I know you Ducks are new to football and all, I just didn't realize that you were new to reading and comprehension as well.

Where, from the sentence "if he continues to improve. Mariota willhave some serious competition for best qb in the PAC", do you get that I'm saying Hundley is the best qb in the PAC?

I don't know if the kid is a "one hit wonder" like McNabb suggests or not, I just see a kid who has improved every season, made the smart decision to come back for another season and is now in position to take the next step to be a topflight qb. If he does, he will be in that conversation with Mariota. If he doesn't then, he won't be in the conversation.

I know this much, on 10-11-14, he'll get a great opportunity to prove himself one way or the other when the Ducks go to the Rose Bowl to play UCLA.

Mannions "owns" the Pac airwaves and there"s no denying that. Re-wrote the passing record as di

Mannion has thrown 46 INTs in his college career.

Mariota has thrown 9.

Mannions "owns" the Pac airwaves and there"s no denying that. Re-wrote the passing record as did Cooks. The more ya throw, stands to reason, the more INTs your going to have. I do agree Mannion was guilty of trying to do to much alot of the time. He got caught to many times with his hand in the cookie jar. Mostly to blame on actual experience in my OP. Time will tell us more this year.

As for Marriota, doesn't throw as much as Mannion and YES, he be good when healthy, I will not deny you that Mamba.

They could improve I guess. But "one of best offenses" constitutes all aspects including that o-line that cant protect him for 4 quarters as well as a stable of RBs that cant get lanes opened up and when they do they dont seem to make the most out of them.

Losing 1730 receiving yards in Cooks surely won't help matters.

They won't be close to best offense. Middle of the PAC. But I do appreciate Riley. He just is running into the wind with what he has at his disposal.

Agree with both bold statements. All teams have to deal with players rotations in and out of their teams. Plug-n-play new players is what is all about with good coaching, isn't it? Riley can't recruit 4-5* players at State, he just turns them into those high ranking players. Can't deny the man that. Statistically, the Beavers do already rank high on offense in the Pac. Good gawd IF they ever learn how to run the ball effectively...L@@K OUT!

Hell, did anyone watch there last 2 games last year? Yeppers, the Beavers are gaining in the rush department. Damn near blew the Ducks outta their own house because of it to. Don't tell me otherwise here.

Always like to hear this kind of a quote from a team fan who "should know" better. Re-watch last year's Civil War and hold that thought and get back to me when this year's edition expires at the end of the 4th quart.

As always...The best to you and yours.

Well first off, he lost his last 5 games in PAC play. Call it what you will, but the fact remains. He didn't win football games. Pile up all the stats and INTs you want, but what does it matter?

also the Beavs lost the CW

Rich Rod is saying the QB competition in Tucson is between 7 guys right now. I think only 5 played in the Spring game. Personally im leaning towards Anu Solomon. He can run and is a mobile QB. Connor Brewer, transfer from Texas is another guy that could start but he is more of a pocket passer.

7 guys? holy smokes!

Is Solomon the consensus favorite down there or is that just who you feel is the best fit?

Rich Rod is claiming it's wide open but ive seen some practices and he seems to be getting the most reps right now.

One thing is for sure whoever wins the QB job will be throwing to one of the best WR cores in the pac-12
