I don't know if I agree. I know he has shown a penchant for the timely (for the opponent) interception, but he has also improved every season. If he continues to improve, then look out. Mariota will have some serious competition for best QB in the PAC.

If he doesn't, then UCLA could finish as low as 3rd or 4th in the South. Especially if the defense feels the loss of Barr and Zumwalt very much.

The QB race is gonna come down to one person, Mannion, if the Beav's cut him loss and this returning group gels, this very could be the best offense in the Pac this season...

did you guys get together this morning and plan a trolling effort on the PAC thread?

If not, why didn't you invite me to the crack smokin party?

Beavs best offense and Hundley best QB......:stephena:

What is next? Colorado vs WSU in the PAC CCG?

Mannion has thrown 46 INTs in his college career.

Mariota has thrown 9.

Listen man I'm not trying to stir the pot, I just think ( and it is a very dark horse) that If Riley lets this offense go, and they have a stable running game, this offense could be the one talked about in the Pac 12 this season..

And for the record I'm not say Hundley is the best QB in the conference, personally I believe he's a one hit wonder like his head coach...

no one is stirring the pot. Dont be gun shy. This is just debate.

They lose their best player on offense in Cooks. The running game was and is the worst in the PAC. Mannion throws pick after pick against good competition.

Their offense is middle of the road in the PAC and very much turnover prone.

I understand, now that highlighted game, I watched that, those 3 picks weren't on him, he was harrassed all night, and the recievers two of them were tipped by a wide out, wait better phrase, ball went off there hands into defenders hands.

I know it sounds like I'm high or got really drunk on Easter (which I did) but I'm not drunk now, I just got this feeling with Riley at the helm there and his past experince, this Beaver offense could be the pain in the arse for the rest of us in the conference...

Another great point right there, they lose there best player on offense. If we look at there game tapes, Mannion was ( I'm willing to beat anything told to get the ball to Cooks) sure he forced the ball to much again trying to get the ball to Cooks, now if you remove Cooks, well its almost like walking into a buffet, that field isn't limited to one side for a player, this kid can spread it around more now...

They could improve I guess. But "one of best offenses" constitutes all aspects including that o-line that cant protect him for 4 quarters as well as a stable of RBs that cant get lanes opened up and when they do they dont seem to make the most out of them.

Losing 1730 receiving yards in Cooks surely won't help matters.

They won't be close to best offense. Middle of the PAC. But I do appreciate Riley. He just is running into the wind with what he has at his disposal.

So losing an NFL 1st round pick that is always seemingly open while the opponents best CB can't cover him is a good thing?

:suspicious:

25 sacks given up last year, but the kid still had a 66.3 completion percentage for 4662 yards.
100% with you on that online must improve, and they will, they were young last year, but if they do,

It sets up a good running game

and Mannion gets longer looks.....:suds:

mcnabb, you trying to argue with a duck about the QB position? You do know they all believe Mariota is the second coming of christ right? You might be able to have a real discussion with TF12, Vita, even a sober wallace (is there such a thing :noidea:), but trying to have one with a duck is an exercise in futility.

I wonder how many of them who also hate the Seahawks would say Wilson is average because of the team around him, but say Mariota is by far the best QB in the nation and discredit what has been around him?

No one is saying he sucks, but if you dare say we have other very good QB's in the conference you are in for a shit storm of unfiltered homerism.

It's not that I'm that negative on USC vs that high on the other teams in the south. UCLA is dangerous and has a top flight QB at the helm. Arizona has some of the best receivers in the conference and maybe the second highest speed offense. ASU really took a big step last year and stopped that second half of the season melt down they have been known for.

USC has some of the best talent in the conference. No one denies that. They also are quite thin and injuries happen to every team in this conference. Add the 7 sark factor and I just like UCLA and the other two more.

A few years from now when the sanction impact is gone and Sark has had time to build something, maybe USC is the dominating force they once were. Who knows. Just not coming in year one.

And I say the same thing for UW. Petersen might be one of the top coaches in the conference, but it's year one and they have questions a QB and will be playing a very young secondary. They should be dangerous, but not likely to take another step up this year.

You can call it what you want, but I do keep it real.

If anything the past four years have taught SC fans( most of us) that it's not gonna happen in one year( getting back ). But We've been seeing what the interest in top recruits are with USC now that SC will be able to take a full class. No longer do they have to hope that a certain player works out because they have no one close to step in . They will be able to take enough to miss on a few prospects and not have a hickup. As far as the whole 7 win Sark thing it's kinda funny that you all cling to that but seriously with Lane and two replacements and playing 14 players on defense and having walkons they pulled out of the sports information office at WR they still won 10.
