Ya had to bring up the "alien angle" eh TF?

Well, speaking of which...Whose "flying" that Trojan QB spaceship this year anywhose or will it just drop off the radar screen like the last 10 years?
:suds:

Not sure. Kessler is the incumbent and did a good job last season, but apparently Max Browne has looked good and is supposed to be the better overall talent.

Sark says there's going to be a competition and the decision will likely be made in the fall. One of them would have to have a horrible spring for Sark to name a starter any sooner.

I don't think I've been this excited for the season to start since about Pete Carroll's 3rd season.

These two guys are "pocket passers" and NOT "read option guyz".

Hybrid HUNH offense is coming to USC I think...Sark's an "outside the box" kinda guy too.

Sark has already started to implement the HUNH so it's a done deal. The list of teams in the Pac not running some sort of hurry up is smaller than the list of those that will be. Which side of history is your club on?

USC isn't going to run read option. According to Sark, it's basically going to be the same type offense that USC has always run. He's just throwing a turbo charger on it by going hunh.

While I'm not really an hunh fan (even though I defend it), I've been curious for a few years to see what USC's offense could do with it considering the athletes we get and limiting a defenses chances to matchup.

There's the MAN! You have been so caught up in the J Allen to Seattle stroke-o-brillance I thought you had left Pac foosball behind you Whiz.

Well, as we Pacers all know, Riley does not run that "wild cat" HUNH thang. Perhaps IF he feels a certain "flow of the game" necessitates doing so he will, but rarely.

At this point in Beavertime, no reason to that new fangled thing. My offense has enough trouble as it is just running the ball effectively.

Don't be a stranger Whiz as I can only take so much of TF...basketball guy you know.

I still read this board pretty much every day. Just haven't seen much to comment on recently. I don't get into basketball at all and little football talk has happened.

I'm not all that excited over the HUNH myself. I was just busting your balls. I was only happy to see UW running it because it meant maybe Sark would FINALLY get his defense to be able to defend it if they saw it all spring/fall/practices.

The thing I don't like about that style of play is the lack of creativity. UW went from having more than 100 plays ready for any given game to less than 30. It wasn't uncommon to see them run the same play 3 or 4 times in a row. I recall seeing several series where they didn't run more than 2-3 unique plays the whole length of the field. The nature of that style requires precision in a few plays that can be pushed out quickly over any sort of real chess match that used to be football.

It may be cool to watch defenses wear out and blow up in the late 3rd quarter, but at the expense of watching exciting football. It's actually boring football ran at high speed. Sad, but that's the way this sport is going now.

Who is the best QB in Pac-12 history?

pick one of those Trojans under Carroll. As far as I remember those would have to be at the top. If you are looking at winning and success.

As far as talent and numbers? Lets see where Mariota is after this year to see if he stacks up against those Troj QBs.

I guess it depends on what criteria we look at.

Did not read because Bleacher Report is terrible, but no reason why not to consider ASU a top 25 team. I questioned their move to hire Graham and especially to extend his contract after a win over a (at the time) mediocre USC squad, but clearly these were the right moves. The Sun Devils are on the list of programs I can't explain why I like. I liked them before 2005, but after the Katrina game I am a bigger fan of the program.
