No doubt Petersen is bringing in the kind of discipline some of us wish Sark had under his tenure.

Today it was announced that starting MLB John Timu has been suspended for the first two weeks of spring practice for undisclosed reasons. The Huskies are doing two weeks of practice, taking a break, and then two more weeks and Timu will be allowed to rejoin the team for that last two weeks.

According to Adam Jude:

Sure don't expect to see this out of Timu. He is a team captain and is a team leader in the class room as well as on the field and he is prowling cars? :noidea:

These kids need to wake the fuck up and realize easy going Sark is gone.

:L

Strip that guy of any leadership role he had on the team and give it to a waterboy, he would at least be honorable and worthy of the job.

Coach P must be loving it up there in the offseason.

carryon Huskers...whats next?:laugh3:

On the field?

Water boy.... This sloth of a LBer...

Does it really make a difference?

Surely not when they are playing Oregon.

Will forward this information and Stanford practice facility location address to the NCAA Rules Infraction Committee for further review. Thank You

Show off..... Always the stat queen, you remind me of Payrod, "look at my numbers, who gives a shit if I used steroids, I made baseball famous" (joking of course buddy :suds:)

Haha, about half of my posts are in Seahawk game threads so it is artificially boosted.

Turns out he stole parking passes from two UW employees and sold them to two teammates because he was 'very very desperate for money'. He has to repay both of those players as part of his restitution.

UW's John Timu faced misdemeanor charges of vehicle prowling | Husky Football Blog | Seattle Times

Seriously out of character for what we thought we knew of him.

God forbid he take out a loan or get a job like most college students have to.

There is no excuse for theft of any kind, but how are kids like him supposed to find time for a job? Have you seen his class load? Kid is a bonafide academic overachiever. Add how football is now nearly a year round requirement for them and they don't have time for jobs. This is why some form of financial compensation is kind of due to them.

He still stole and should pay a heavy price for doing it. Just saying getting a job isn't really as easy as you think for student athletes in today's college environment.

If he doesn't have time for a job, take out a loan like most college students do. He already has his living expenses and tuition paid for, I don't know what else he would need money for.

I have to assume this determines how much money he receives.

Just one of the things that bugs me about the NCAA. If a kid robs someone he's cleared to play, but if someone gives him the money he's band. (Not saying that UW will clear him, just that the NCAA says its fine).

No violation there Wallace, the facility actually has a new NFL players locker room, and many former Cardinal come back to practice at the facilities during the off season. The university researched this. :)

In fact Luck, Sherman, Martin and a few other former players are all on campus for group workouts right now.

That's true, during the 90's SC was pretty mediocre by SC standards. Still they won the 1990 and 1996 Rose Bowls, which was 2 more Rose Bowl wins than any other Pac 10 school save Washington. (Though I was really cheering for ASU when they came within 30 seconds of winning a National Title and a Rose Bowl against tOSU).

They had a couple decent seasons, but their average record was around 7-5 from 1990-1999
