He's a good playcaller but trying to do everything and still be the head coach was too much for him.

Well that, and behaving like an adult. lol

Agree that trying to call the plays and be head coach was too much. I remember that Carroll tried the same thing with the defense and figured out pretty quickly that it was too much. Kiffin kept stubbornly insisting on keeping the playcalling duties himself, even after it was painfully obvious that it was too much.

Thanks for playing.
No worries Wallace. I'll rock it through the week. Good luck to you and your Beavers.

BTW, WSU had the most 'also receiving votes' and USC 6th in that. Both can make the top 25 if they keep on winning.

Cougs have Oregon State next which probably won't swing that needle more and USC gets Cal at home.

I'd love to be top 25 but can't blame anyone for not. Since Oregon and Stanford we have been massively underwhelming in our performances.

cougs are basically 26th in both polls. It's not the performances recently keeping you out, you just need more wins to keep distancing from that first game bomb. Win the next couple, even close, and WSU will be ranked. Hell, the next 3 are games WSU should win comfortably.

Hope your right but no big deal. I just hope we stay the course and end up undefeated or only 1 loss in the conference come AC. Though if we play like we have the past two weeks you guys beat us by 4 plus touchdowns.

Are you really surprised a coug doesn't have his finger on the pulse of what UW fans were saying when Sark left? This particular coug hears what he wants to hear to further an agenda driven by hate. Nothing new here.

I wasn't talking about Sark, I was talking about how he said he was fine with the Hawks dumping Mora for Carroll when almost to a man noone wanted Mora fired for Carroll.

Your out of your mind if you think the majority of Hawks fans wanted Mora over Carroll. Everyone wanted Our AD gone and knew the reason Mora became the coach was because they were buds.
Both of them were out the next year and the fans were cheering their departures. Mora's mouth is his own worst enemy and his weekly "blame everyone but me" schtick burned all bridges in record time.

We knew GB has one of the best management staffs in the biz so the Schneider hire seemed like a good call. Pete Carroll was a proven college coach, but there was of course questions on if he'd be able to transition back to the pros. That got answered fairly quickly.

Yes, there was plenty of questions when Schneider and Carroll were hired, but everyone was pleased a total house cleaning took place. It was exactly what was needed and it's rare you get that gift in the NFL. Especially with the crappier ownership groups. Thank god Paul Allen expects more than mediocrity.

I call BS, no Husky fans were happy the Hawks dumped Mora for Carroll. A few years later maybe, but not at the time.

I can't say I was super stoked about the Seahawks hiring Carroll, but I was glad to see Mora pushed out. It was obvious even after just 1 year that he was never gonna lead the Seahawks anywhere.

The cougs got to be stoked. They also killed a streak last night. They hadn't beat ASU in tempe in 6 trips there. Decent road trip monkey to get off your back like ours with Zona was.

Another good weekend for the PAC teams from this state.

I think a lot Hawks fans weren't sad that Mora was pushed out...IMO from the Husky/Hawks fans weren't thrilled it was Mora for Carroll. I honestly don't know one Husky fan that wanted Mora though when rumors started that Sark was out.

On the Fresno St. news...
Former Cal coach Jeff Tedford will be the leading candidate to replace DeRuyter, according to ESPN's Adam Rittenberg.

Tedford played quarterback at Fresno State and served as offensive coordinator from 1993 to 1997.

Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin is another possible candidate to replace DeRuyter, sources told ESPN's Mark Schlabach. Kiffin played quarterback for the Bulldogs and got his first assistant coaching opportunity with the school from 1997 to 1998.

They're reporting that this is what was fully said by Graham to Leach when they met after the game. Something tells me they won't be sending Christmas cards to each other this holiday sea son.

Following the Cougars' 37-32 win over the Sun Devils on Saturday night, Arizona State coach Todd Graham had some words of his own for Leach during the postgame handshake that could be heard on the broadcast of the game.

As the two met at midfield, Graham greeted Leach with an open hand and said, "Good game, Mike."

Then he pulled Leach closer and said, "Hey man, what you did in the newspaper is chickens---. I've always respected you. For you to do that is bulls---."
