Whats always made the PAC tough to run the table is that there are usually three our four NFL qbs scattered around that even on not so talented teams can beat better teams.

And there are generally only 1 crap team, a 9 conference game schedule, and usually 5 different styles of offenses

True. I think UW will be a 10 win team for several years as players get better and they get more depth.
Hate to say it - but certainly looks that way. Hope to the heavens Oregon gets their shit together and two 10 win teams battle for the North in future years.

I think Oregon should be looking at a bowl next year. The schedule sets up alright with 2 after thought in the nonconference and Nebraska at home with a new QB. Oregon at least played 2 north teams close this season. the other 3 not sure on the exact ups and downs but as we saw with Utah one year to the next can change drastically. South teams Oregon misses USC and Colorado could be 3 or 4 wins from that side with the teams they play being the 4 bottom teams. 9 would be the cap and likely an over reach (including a bowl win) 7 or 8 is more likely.

I'm sure the ducks will bounce back, but I'm not so sure it's as fast as OD thinks, nor quite even what you might be expecting. There was a lot of division in that locker room last year and there were a few self entitled jackasses that weren't even interested in trying to pull their own weight. Talented or not, your staff is likely to find themselves having to clean house at least a little. Happens quite frequently in these things. I still think Nebraska comes in and wins, but I'm sure they will grow and become more dangerous as the year rolls on. Certainly a bowl game is possible.

Yeah, that was my point. There are NFL caliber QB's in the other conferences as well, but they aren't running as many diverse offenses as the Pac has. DC has to be the toughest job in the Pac. Air raid, bear raid, HUNH, spread option, Pro style, power/counter, etc.

I live in probably the only district in the greater metro region that has voted republican for the last 20 years. We don't give a flying fuck about liberals out here. It's those cock suckers that won't clear the way for the Sonics to return as well. Fuck em all.

Maybe because its the team that beat Washington. Zona and Utah might have been in the backfield in those games but they dont have Adoree and Biggie Marshall to play the WRs. It's the whole defense that gets it done. Utah and Zona might have a few athletes to give Washington trouble but USC had many more.
Ya and Utahs athletes beat USC's athletes.

You say that like you think USC's defense had nothing to do with it.
He played better against other defenses that rushed him more so yeah, I say he had a bad game and handled things poorly given his history.

They may have rushed him more, but they didn't have USC's secondary.

I agree that he handled things poorly, but I'd say that having a defense that had more speed and athleticism at all 3 levels than any other team he'd seen had something to with it. Minus Adoree's slip, your offense may not have scored a touchdown that game.

I actually expect him to play better vs. Bama than he did vs. USC because USC's defense actually gives him an idea of what's coming. USC's defense isn't as good as Bama's, but it's close enough that he will at least know what to prepare for athletically. I'd expect him to play better against USC had we made it to the CCG for that same reason.

Bama's secondary isn't nearly as good as USC's, but their front 7 is better. There's not much they will get for preparation from watching that USC game and trying to project it out for this game. It's not the same. And neither is the setting. Browning got lessons from all of his tough outings, but his overall history in tough pressure doesn't leave anyone thinking he's going to find much success in this coming game. Sure, he might hit a couple of big plays, but I see a lot of punts coming.

Oh yeah they will. They see that while Browning is accurate he doesn't have the arm to hurt you on deep throws if you pressure him. You don't collect talent on the D line like Bama has and not use them on a QB like that. Now I'm guessing were going to see a lot of quick hits and screens to counter that . That Ross kid has the wheels to make a few big plays.
As far as bamas secondary. I have a feeling they dont get tested that much because of the D line they have. Who's going to get time to throw deep when you've got your QB running for his life.
