The reason i hesitate on USC is 2011-2012. 2011 10-2 USC is back better make them #1 next season. 2012 7-6. lets wait and see still for me.

They have a solid young QB and have been fully removed from the impact of those scholarship reductions they were under for all of those years. It takes time for the program to get to full depth and development once those sanctions are lifted. It isn't an immediate return.

There are probably still questions with that staff as they haven't proven yet they can win at that level, but they have athletes and depth and now a good QB to build around for the next two full years after this season. Really no excuse for them not to rise up to higher than they reached this year, and they were one play or two away from winning the south and facing Washington in the CCG.

Oh there's no doubt at all that SC is back on the rise and it's only a matter of time before they get one. The rest of that division is a total crap shoot and none appear to be close to being that kind of threat, but then the rest of the North doesn't feel that strong either outside of UW. WSU could take another step forward, Stanford could regroup and isn't that far off.

Next year could see a swing in overall division strength if Colorado can keep any sort of momentum and Utah can reload. Add that to USC's resurgence and there will be a lot of tough outs in that division.

And they will now have a different attitude going into spring ball. They should be bought more fully into that staff and what they are teaching. It's working. The fire should be even higher.

Going from 1-8 to 8-1 is nothing short of historic. I'm not going to question their ability to keep that program moving in the right direction. Win the south next year? They don't have to for them to still be carrying that momentum forward. They just can't slip back to 1-8.

Half the conference is going bowling. We've certainly had more in prior years, but the middle/bottom of the conference was down more than usual so this is what we get.

Is this theory going to stop you from thinking 2017 Ducks can rebound or does this only work for USC?
