I really don't know if there was an attempt at a new point here because I already destroyed what it appears you are trying to say, but then this is so mixed up I'm not quite sure there really was a point.

OU didn't 'force' people to spend money and no other team in the conference has attempted to outdo or even match their crazy facilities. The upgrade to husky stadium was in the works way back when Hedges was still here and the upgrade to our facilities was tied to that project. The reason we got it when we did was the TV money increase with the network, just like everyone else in the conference. Oregon had ZERO to do with it.

Oregon won't reach the level they did under Kelly until they hit on the right coach and even storied programs have had difficulties with that. Money won't change that in any way. Money won't have a single thing to do with it. They already have those facilities. I mean what more can they actually spend money on that they haven't already?

None of that is related in ANY WAY to the fact that money DID buy them were they are. How do you not connect those very simple dots? THE MONEY IS ALREADY SPENT. MORE DOESN'T DO ANYTHING. I mean it's pretty damned easy to see the difference isn't it?

I know we've given enough examples, but Notre Dame is still paying big money to a coach who hasn't been there in years, and it looks like they might be paying two former coaches after this year, they wish all they needed was money to fix the issue...

Both teams have upset each other when the rose bowl was on the line and while WSU might not be ranked by then, their play is solid enough they might be playing at the level of teams in the teens or twenties so It's not nearly the stretch it seems like it should be on paper.

Texas can write the biggest check in the sport and hasn't been able to fill their HC slot with a great fit. Dealing with HC vacancies doesn't really have anything to do with money at this level of football. Knight can't write a check and fix this.

For whatever reason, NN can't figure out that the checks were already spent and were about getting the top recruits in, not attracting a HC. Kelly came in as an OC. The facilities might have had some influence, but I doubt it. He was moving up to a higher division school.

Phil Knight donates 1 billion dollars into Oregon football, upgrading facilties, uniforms, etc. Why not hold back some of those 100 million dollars and instead invest in a head coach? Go to Chip Kelly, go to Belicheck, go to Harbaugh, go to Saban, and ask them how much? What $$$ amount you need to get you to come to Oregon?

The reason for Helfrich being head promoted head coach was obvious at the time and made sense at the time. But clearly he has some major flaws on running a program. It's time to not hire from within and look to competent head coaches from the outside.

It's not fear (for me anyways) its the fact I want them to get their swagger back for the simple fact it helps the conference!
