Release the Kraken - Fuck the Canucks
kinda expected the Chris Petersen era to be off to a better start. Is this him or the quality of players left after sark left
Well Petersen and his staff came in and totally switched up the defense to their own 3-4 and there have been some bumps with the veteran front 7 adapting to it, but the problem today was the true freshmen DB's UW is forced to give major time to and by the end of the game it just seemed they were playing more scared and confused. They all made some plays, but just not consistent.
UW's offense was 'miles' better than last week (ok, ok, that was bad ). Offensive line was much better and Cyler really managed the game well. Hard to criticize an offense that hangs 59 on someone, but Cyler really needs to get his throwing rhythm. Even many of his completed screens and other short dump passes were low, behind the receiver, etc. Didn't hit many in stride.
Jury is out on how long it's going to take for them to get a worthy Pac12 caliber defense on the field, but right now they don't feel close.
One last note. Stand out Jr linebacker Shaq Thompson played both ways early in the game and just destroyed the defense taking 3 straight running plays that ended in a long break away TD. Never saw him on the field again on offense, but his first step at going both ways was a resounding success.
