Yeah, as I posted in the thread about the poll the Pac has half of its members in it.

Lot of high expectations across the conference and going to be one heck of a brutal run for everyone in conference play this year.

Looks like the PAC will be a fun conference to watch this year. I'm curious to follow USC and Washington, see how the new coaches fare. Also, have a personal interest in UCLA this season: are they for real? or still work in progress. Watch Mariota win the Heisman. Watch Leach, what the hell are they gonna do this year?

Anyway, bring on football, about to lose my mind over here.

Yeah, Mid 20's is perfect, your on the list but below the radar. I'd rather have SC start out around #22 especially now that there is a playoff.

Honestly the only one that seems off to me is USC. New coach, team that has been in turmoil for several years, still on the heels of sanctions that leaves them with serious depth issues, etc. 15 seems too high.

Wouldn't have mattered to me if UW wasn't on that list. Rank then 50th or 5th. It's a preseason poll. Petersen still has to go out there and prove it on the field. I'll be much more happy if they are around that spot (or higher) at seasons end as it would mean they probably beat at least a couple of big teams along the way.

Prediction: Which of those teams will take the biggest fall from that rank by seasons end?

I would think Stanford, USC, and UW are somewhere on those chances to fall. :noidea:

Agree on those 3. Funny thing is, I could see any or all of those three having significant moves up the polls as well.

If the players replacing the guys Stanford lost transition smoothly, they could easily end up top 5. If USC can avoid injuries, they can easily get into the top 10 or better and if Coach Petersen adjusts quickly to PAC level competition and coaching, UW could get into the top 15.

Biggest problem for UW, in my opinion, is that they are in the North with Oregon and Stanford, plus Oregon St. who likes to cause problems for ranked teams. On top of that, of the top 3 in the South, they only miss USC. Those are 5 tough games to have to get through.

Doesn't everyone in the north get either USC or UCLA? So that puts everyone in the same boat. If you want to talk about the North teams playing South teams then look at who gets to skip ASU vs who has them.

When it comes to Stanford their schedule is just brutal given they face every team on that top 25 list don't they?

The cali teams all wanted to play each other every year and only skip teams not in cali. Not always a wise thing when looking at SoS I'm thinking.

I mean damn, the trees are playing 6 of the teams on that top 25 list. Talk about a very non SEC schedule.

That's why I'd pick them as the team that is likely to fall the most from their preseason ranking. Well their schedule and youth at a few key positions.

Yeah, every team in the North gets one or the other. UCLA also get everyone on that list. UCLA and Stanford look to have the toughest road of the ranked PAC teams.

USC actually has the easiest road of the ranked teams. We miss UW and Oregon.

Stanford plays 5 out of their 6 ranked opponents on the road. Their only home game against a preseason ranked opponent is USC in week 2, 2 weeks before the students return to campus negating the minimal home field advantage for any Stanford game. If they win 9 games this season I will call it a great season.

There goes Oregon again. Celebrating how many national championships they've won.

Oregon is similar missing SC and ASU. The only road (preseason) ranked team they have is ucla. Tough early season game though with Michigan State.

Looks like any Pac team to make the championship will be fairly tested. On top of tough Pac competition USC, ASU and Stanford play all play a ranked ND team, Oregon plays MSU, ucla plays Texas. The only one of the ranked Pac teams not picking up a ranked OOC opponent is Washington.

BoBo's TOP5 PAC12 h8 list for BeavsState "ta do" list this year...

1-Ducks...time to right a ship that was "wronged" years ago.

2-Huskies...last years beatdown will forever leave a sour taste in my mouth, a knockout this year makes it ALL right as rain again.

3-Stanford...Not sure whose the better club here, two straight years of just, "We ran out of clock in the end."

4-USC...Another equal opponent who we have to just score more than them.

5-Wazzou...Just keep beating these clowns on the rodeo AGAIN this year.
