Oregon needs one win vs @ Utah, Colorado, and @ OSU
That's right and much better put.

Your Ducks certainly don't have to win out for a CCG spot but rather probable to get an NCG playoff spot.

First things first. I really want Oregon to get back the PAC Champions title.

Anything after that is gravy.

Just think, it is possible.... Maybe unlikely, but possible.... Oregon could get NC , Rose, PAC, and Heisman trophies all in this year.

Was in my car when I posted that. Here's the details coming out.

UW star cornerback Marcus Peters dismissed from the team | Husky Football Blog | Seattle Times

Marcus was considered by many to be not only the top CB in the conference, but one of the top in the nation and was listed as top 10 in next years draft on many mock drafts.

He will still certainly play on Sundays as the NFL has plenty of problem children, but how far will his stock fall given his inability to respect his coaches and team? Probably just cost himself a fair amount.

Marcus Peters, the Huskies’ standout junior cornerback, has been dismissed from the program, multiple sources have told The Seattle Times.

Peters got into an argument with an assistant coach during practice Wednesday, a source said, apparently the final straw in a series of run-ins with Washington’s new coaching staff. He also got into an argument with coaches during UW’s victory at Colorado on Saturday and then missed practice on Tuesday, sources said.

In his third year as a starting cornerback, Peters had been suspended for one game in September after his sideline outburst, in which he threw his helmet and gloves, a week earlier against Eastern Washington. That outburst followed what UW coach Chris Petersen called a “stupid” personal-foul penalty against Peters, who had head-butted an EWU receiver.

Peters is considered a potential first-round NFL draft pick.

He is the ninth player Petersen has either suspended or dismissed from the team since February. Through a team spokesman, Petersen declined to comment Thursday morning. He is scheduled to meet with the media after practice later in the morning.

I am positive that UW's dismissal of Peters is Phil Knights fault

Two things:
Those who questioned Petersen and his handling of Miles as being too lenient because of the position he played can now put that to bed. Peters was not only the best corner on the team, but without him they are forced to have yet another true freshman in his place. Big drop off. And he did so days before facing UCLA and an always dangerous passer in Hundley.

No wonder they are having problems winning or even just playing up to their talent level with some of the things coming out about Sark's kids left on this team. Peters isn't the only one over there not taking this seriously. No idea if cutting the head off the snake will get the others back in line or not.

And yes Wallace, I still think Smith is a problem.

I was enjoying your last two posts when I came across this in the bold. Now I have started to laugh again Whiz.

Thanks for the "cheerup" line. See you boyz by the Lake soon. When your done with JS, put a 1/2 tank of gas in his car and point him south towards home.

You don't think Peterson ever had to dismiss or suspend players he recruited at Boise State? Or did he have all choir boys?

Try to keep up will ya? There was a coaching change. Not only are there issues just due to the kids themselves, but also the normal growing pains of a change at the top. Yes, they were Sarks kids. And some of them aren't doing well under Petersen.

As for Peters, he was in the dog house under Sark as well so he's just a bad egg that Petersen and his staff just finally got tired of and have moved on.

Anything else stupid to add?

"No wonder they are having problems winning or even just playing up to their talent level with some of the things coming out about Sark's kids left on this team"

Stupid is you painting them as Sarks kids the reason they are having problems winning. It's Petersons first year so wouldn't that make most of them Sarks kids left on the team? Peterson had to suspend players he recruited at Boise so it's just players or kids being kids don't you think?. I doubt the fact that Sark isn't there or that he recruited them is a reason they do what they do or have the attitude they do. A new system or a new coach isn;t why players have issues. They probably would have acted up even if the same coaches were there just like Petersons kids he had to suspend. Shaq Thompson is a Sark recruited kid Cyler Miles is a kid Sark recruited. How bad is he acting? Now you can talk about the level of players he left behind and if they are good enough but it's just stupid to call out the players having issues and paint them as Sarks kids when you have many more who are doing fine.

Let me translate:

Suspended and/or kicked off team=Sarks' kids

Playing under potential= Sark's kids

Flat-out stupid= Sark's kids

Doing great and/or playing above potential= Sark's kids that Peterson coached up

At what point does Husky stop blaming outgoing coach for problems? When they keep a coach and/or win with one.

HOWEVER-

When talking about Oregon, it is always "Longest Yard U", or "Thugs paid for by Phil Knight"

Make sense?

Very interesting piece from an article written in April regarding Petey and his disciplinary approach. Seems that many Huskies do not aggree with the people on this forum regarding Sark and his approach. Some would even say Sark was more transparent and fair with discipline. Hmmmm

As a note, this was written by a well known Husky blogger who frequenty writesd for SB Nation:

The elephant in the room begins with how Petersen has handled player discipline. To be more precise, the issue at hand is really about how Petersen has chosen to communicate ... or not communicate ... his disciplinary approach. Unfortunately for everybody, there have already been several challenges to deal with in this regard. The post Super Bowl fight involving Cyler Miles and Demore'ea Stringfellow, the parking pass incident with John Timu and the expulsion of Patrick Enewally are incidents that we all know about. Each incident has its own set of unique circumstances, to be sure. However, from where we all sit, they each have been handled in wildly varying ways.
I wouldn't argue that Petersen has mishandled the actual disciplining of players in any of these matters. In fact, that would be hard to do given that we don't really have full visibility to all of facts surrounding the individual incidents nor the full terms of recompense that Petersen has levied on the offenders. It is the opaqueness of these matters that constitute the greatest misstep so far in the Petersen era. Pac 12 football fans expect a certain level of transparency in how coaches manage discipline for their favorite teams. Mike Leach is famous for his "three unforgivable sins" philosophy. Sonny Dykes hasn't done everything right at Cal, but he has applied discipline in a consistent manner that has satisfied a very demanding Golden Bears fanbase. Even Steve Sarkisian applied standards during his time at UW that gave fans a sense that offenders like Kasen Williams and Austin Seferian-Jenkins were on specific programs to regain full-rights status as players on the team. It is the coaches who have been the least transparent about their methods, guys like Chip Kelly and Jeff Tedford, who have garnered the most criticism over the last few years regardless of how effective or non-effective the actual discipline really was for their teams.
In Petersen's case, the lack of transparency has been pretty stark. At face value, the idea that Patrick Enewally can be booted after "one strike" while the futures of guys like Stringfellow and Miles remain open to debate is a curious question. The full spring suspensions of String and Miles compared to a two-week suspension for Timu is hard to synch up. The lack of a reinstatement for Miles during the spring practices despite the resolution of his legal situation is an inadequately explained issue. Recent rumors posted by Dave Mahler suggesting that[ame=""] Miles has actually been getting private tutoring with Jonathon Smith[/ame] raises new queries in terms of what the term "suspension" really means.
Certainly, Chris Petersen has the right to be as private as he wishes to be when administering discipline to his football club. It is not hard to understand why he'd want to keep those matters relatively close to the chest. In fact, it is most likely that his methods are well understood by his coaches and his players - the people who matter the most. No argument there. The problem is that this isn't Boise. Intentionally keeping other stakeholders way out of the loop can create collateral damage that blows back on the players and the university. Stringfellow recently tweeted an example of such blowback when he posted a picture of a very hostile (perhaps even criminal) note left on his door by, presumably, a fellow student. Compare and contrast that to how Sarkisian handled the Austin Seferian-Jenkins matter. While we were not in the loop on whatever the plan was for game suspensions, Sarkisian was very clear from the outset that ASJ would miss the entire spring and that he was being placed on a disciplinary program involving school, community and recompense that had to be completed prior to his reinstatement. Clear and concise. No questions about his status and no ambiguity that could otherwise lead to bad behavior by misguided fans.

Like many other college coaches, Petey will let you play if you can make an impact, regardless of how "thuggish" you are. Remember Titus Young?

He was suspended indefinitely at Boise State for disciplinary problems before rebounding to become a major part of the Broncos’ offense.

So in your opinion one of the best CBs in the country can't make an impact?

I think you're confused.

Nothing new there.
