How many HC's in the conference wouldn't leave for another job (at their top choice right now) vs those that would leave? I mean both zona schools have to fall in the latter category. So would Dykes probably. Leach? I'm sure if an offer came he'd take it. Shaw? Would he go to the NFL? :noidea: Mora's hard to gauge but he might like another shot at the NFL, doubt he would go to another college though.

Riley, Sark, Helf, wittingham are strongly unlikely to ever take another job over what they have now and Petersen might be in that boat, but kind of early to tell.

Colorado? :L No one is staying in a dumpster fire if there are alternatives out of it.

Thank you for proving just how far I'm in your head. Always flattered when that happens. :yahoo:

You are trying too hard to rustle jimmies, but have nothing with which to do so. Just this supposed crying over a HC leaving that we are happy to see gone. :L

Failed to prove any hypocrisy. Failed to get under my skin. You are just full of fail today and that's ok. You just keep being you. It's mildly entertaining anyway. In a special olympics kind of way.

You're right . You've not shown any signs of jealousy because Sark left for USC not one. And not one bit of hurtn from Duck fans piling on to the point where they have to back off for fear of you going postal. Nope. It's all in my head. lol. Keep telling yourself that and keep taking deep breaths.

Not to jump into the Wiz/SoCalJim dustup.

I will say this. Wiz has been a bit "over the top" in some of his criticisms of Sark, although I do understand why up to a point.

Wiz has been complimentary and has given Sark credit for picking up a program that had been all but destroyed by the AD, was coming off of an 0-12 season and returning respectability to the program.

When USC was in the process of hiring the new coach and Sark was a frontrunner for the job, he made the expected "I'm here for the long haul" comments in case he didn't get the USC job. Wiz had no issue with this.

Wiz's issue (and I agree with him) was when Sark brought the DawgFather into the discussion by claiming he wanted to restore the program to that level. It would be like a coach at USC saying he wanted to restore the program to John McKay levels before bolting to another program or the NFL.

It was wrong of Sark to bring Don James into it and I understand why that would bother Huskies. It was basically a step too far. Unfortunately, we can't unring that bell and while it's probably time for Husky fans to move past it, it is what it is.

I think you're pretty spot on here. I could see both 'Zona school coaches, Dykes and Leach all leaving for other/bigger name programs or the NFL if the opportunity arrives. I think Mora likely only leaves for the NFL (and I think that's more likely than not).

I think Petersen stays at UW for the long haul. As long as it took for him to be pried away from Boise, I just can't see him having much interest in an even bigger program or the NFL.

I'd be surprised if Shaw leaves. He seems perfect for Stanford and vice versa. Riley tried his hand in the NFL, seems to love Oregon St. and that love is returned in kind. He has also had opportunities at other schools (including to return to USC) and has always turned them down. I think he retires from Oregon St.

As long as he's successful, I only see Sark leaving for the NFL. I'm not sure if he has NFL aspirations though. I do know that if he is successful at USC, the NFL will eventually come calling.

Don't really know enough about Whittingham and Helf to comment and agree about poor ol' Colorado.

Good read TF...THAT GUY brings a new style of D to the fore front. Not sure how long he will last at Utah. He has come a long way in a short amount of time.

IF I was "head hunting" for new coaches, he would be my #1 Pac HC target.

The thing about Whittingham is you can always count on him to let you back in the game.

I think the guy makes bone headed decisions quite a bit and they cost the Utes games.

Same thing can be said about EVERY HC in college football. I have yet to see a "perfect game" be pitched this year in CF.

If it's a close game, here's hoping his boneheaded decisions have a bigger impact than our ability to defend the Hail Mary.

I'm worried about Utah. I think USC is the better, more talented team, but Utah is dangerous. I'm concerned that the altitude, combined with our depleted numbers and Utah being a solid team could be too much to overcome. We'll see.

IF we get past Utah, then we should be in pretty good shape to have the South title come down to the UCLA game.

I agree. utah scares me. Better more talented hasn't been enough in a few games. Coaching melt downs and player brain cramps worry me more and more.

OK Wally, let me rephrase just for you. As a casual Utah fan, I see him do it quite often.

Do all coaches make boneheaded mistakes that cost games? Debatable.

Some do it more than others though, thats a fact.

What I see more often is a coach making a good call and the players fail to execute properly.

In whittinghams case I see a guy do something like play prevent the entire 2nd half against WSU and lose the game because of it.

He's good for a couple of losses a year. Bad coach? Nah. Top of my list for a replacement? Not even close...

Utah has the toughest remaining sched this year in the Pac, I'll let my statement stand for now and watch KW work his way thru the rest of his games.

So IB, you think RichRod is the guy? Please tell me who then.

I think Mora only leaves for the right NFL job. He learned his lesson from his brief stint with the Seahawks and has a great job now. Why risk it for another bad gig?

There have been rumors of NFL teams talking to Shaw and it's hard to get a read on him, but I wouldn't see him leaving for any other college and it would have to be the right NFL for him to leave as well. Wouldn't say never, but not that likely? :noidea:

I might be premature to say Helf wouldn't leave, but he too would probably have to be an NFL gig over another college. And I'm not sure any teams are beating doors down to get to him any time soon.

Probably a similar situation for Wittingham and Leach. They might bail for a dream job, but who's beating their doors down any time soon?

The most likely to get poached AND willing to go have to be the two zona coaches IMO, with rich rod being a slight leader right now? :noidea:
