Everything sucks.

Defense.

Running backs.

Coaching.

Bright spots WRs and Mariota

Ducks gonna lose 4 games.

10 straight years is as good as that streak gets.

Beavers going to kick the shit outta Oregon in CW also.

Could be worse. BYU's starting QB just broke his leg and they are down to their 3rd string RT tonight. Count your blessings. Blood is flowing in the Provo valley tonight.

I realize you are an expert on conference nut swinging, but how on earth are either of the two you are trolling about it here doing so when they aren't thumping their chests over the accomplishments of others or claiming anything about what other conference teams can/did/would do against teams from other P5 conferences?

Right, stop trolling. Not going to let it slide no matter who you think you are.

This was a very anti-Hoop post if this thread is one where TB and I can't come over and yank some chains in a good natured way then there is a fundamental problem with the thinking of a particular mod. Never had even a hint of an issue with a mod on this site and for the most part a huge fan and supporter of all of them but very disappointed in this post.

Spamming 'nutswinger' everytime someone makes a post is annoying troll speak.

You're getting your jimmies all rustled and making it worse...

Yer on. Straight up. Good luck!

Outstanding sir, and good luck to you.

DayMan change your AVI back please. It is bad karma to have that on for game day (even though the Huskies have a bye).

The reason some think the era is over is because of the loss of Kelly and Aliotti. You can recruit all the top talent you want, but without the right coaches you aren't going anywhere. Ask Michigan about that one. Look at how quickly USC turned around after dropping Kiffin.

I don't know if you can definitively say Helfrich can't lead a P5 school to the top 10, but there is also no reason to believe he can and the difference in their defense after Aliotti left is substantial.

They need to get the right coaches in there and fast if they want to just have this be a bump in the road. If this is a down year and they follow it up after Mariota leaves with another one the recruiting classes will suffer and it gets harder and harder to get back to the top 10. Especially in a conference with so many quality HC's right now with so many upwardly trending teams.

You aren't going to fake your way through the Pac. It's going to take talent and outstanding coaching to reach the playoffs. This year and for at least the next few.

The reason I think Oregon will stop being the Oregon weve seen the past six years ( putting up 50 by halftime and resting starters mid way throught the 3rd) and they will remain good but not always elite is they made a spash with their style of play and the players that fit that system. Now teams have taken some of what they do and the quick smallish shifty player gets plenty of offers so they have to compete with many teams for those players. Team like AZ practice against that type of offense so it's not something the D has never seen. I thik Oregon will be the PAC version of A&M. Good but with flaws. The coaching decline was a matter of time. They got lucky that they had Chip and no such luck with the new coach who was just hoping to do the same thing. You lost an innovator and now have a manager.

That's the thing about the PAC refs. They don't take favs. They lob the tsunami of bad calls pretty much equally during games.

Such as the phantom "block to the back" call during the 1st quarter PR return for TD by Ross during the UW/Stanford game. 7 points erased by the zebras instantly when there was absolutely no push by the UW player.

Gotta agree they pretty much suck for everyone because everone seems to have bad calls to re live. I remember about 3 maybe 4 Stanford ( Luck was qb pretty sure) vrs USC games here in LA where USC was up with like 2 min left and Stanford was in like 3rd or 4th n 20 and a USC DB lit up a Stanford receiver with his shoulder and dislodged the ball. The hit was so good and the refes flagged it for helmet to helmet when replays showed it was totally clean. I'm still pissed .lol

Ya, other teams simply have caught up with Oregon. A few even passed Oregon and it happened fast.

Man I don't know. Losing your o-line is going to hurt, theres just no way around it.

I'm not seeing any sucky version of Oregon on the near horizon. Hopeful, sure. Betting on it? Hell no.

PAC refs for some reason feel they have to be part of the game, and not just let the kids play. that was a BS call on that Oregon kid. These kids are playing with huge emotion

I think they throw more flags than anyone else. Seems like it in the games I watch.

But lets not pretend it was any worse of a call than the AZ kid received a bit earlier. They were both by the book, but still lame.

When it happened my thought was it was a makeup call for the one against AZ.

As Mark Twain said, "The report of my death was an exaggeration". I think the same thing may be true of the Oregon football team. Premature, at least. If true, all fans in the North will suffer as they will have no one to hate if the gaudy well-financed ducks fall. In the South, we have the most hated of all to vent on, USC, and now, UCLA. What is football without a little hatred?

Right. It seems everyone's starting to focus on that one call, like the same thing didn't happen to Arizona earlier, or like there weren't all kinds of other questionable calls throughout the game.
