Texans place Jadeveon Clowney on PUP list | The State

"Jadeveon Clowney was placed Monday on the NFL’s Active/Physically Unable to Perform list by the Houston Texans.

The Texans’ No. 1 overall 2014 draft pick from South Carolina has been on injured reserve after undergoing microfracture surgery on his right knee in December.

Being placed on the Active/PUP list before training camp begins allows Clowney to return to practice when he is medically cleared. If he isn’t cleared before the season begins, Clowney would be moved to the Reserve/PUP list and then be unable to play or practice during the first six weeks of the season."

The local gamecock fans are taking this shit hard. While they love to poke fun at Watson for being hurt last year, they don't like it when you return the favor about their golden child.

Not a surprise really. I wanted him pretty bad during recruiting, but after he was at South Carolina it became apparent quickly it was a good thing he didn't come to Alabama due to his lack of work ethic.

I can't say much, give me a few million guaranteed and you likely wouldn't see me on the field either. I'd make Jamarcus Russell seem like a hard worker.

These freakishly sized super athletes that never had to work a day through college of HS football and still dominate are failing miserably in NFL far too often.

@4down20 is right. Work ethic has never been present for them. Why work hard when you can show up and dominate.

Thing is, that doesn't cut it in the NFL when guys just as big and athletic as you work their asses off.

Imagine if he had JJ Watt's work ethic and dedication to the game.

Maybe Saban could have motivated him?

wasn't his senior year where he looked like absolute shit to start the season? I remember him being gassed on opening night.

I felt bad for Spurrier.

You know he wanted to kick the kids ass in practice but there was nothing he could do.

Wow, the guy has all the talent in the world but seems to lack the drive needed to do well.

Houston Texan number 1 picks in franchise history

1. David Carr
2. Mario Williams
3. Jadeveon Clowney

Mario was the only pro bowler (twice with Houston and now twice with Buffalo)

Texans have had 15 first round picks in their franchises history since 2002. SEVEN have been spent on defensive linemen.
