I think they can be specific enough while still being vague and get the message across informally.

Pretty much a forgone conclusion that Kadri is gone. They'll likely have to take pennies on the dollar if they wait much longer.

Or I guess they could move Marner for a big package of futures and re-tool for 2020-21 and after (and they would certainly be in the running for the playoffs this year). Marner to Colorado for Byram and Jost? Does either team do that deal?

No way to really sugar coat it. They've just become too top heavy. Not really a terrible problem to have while those top players are producing but it will take some creative asset management to remain competitive in the short term.

Since it's Andy Strickland tweeting it and not Treliving tweeting or saying it in an interview (ala Jim Benning), the Flames should be fine. As for Talbot, I bet he looks a lot better with actual NHL defensemen in front of him.

Yeah, guy with 80 goals the past three seasons signed for less than JT Miller (58 goals in the same span, traded for a first rounder) would be very useless to most teams I guess.
