In other news...the Devils are bringing back these vintage threads next season (for a few games anyway).

I don't want to be mean to the guy and I haven't seen him play in a couple of years but Etem's hockey IQ is off the charts.

/as in hasn't reached the charts yet

I hate when guys who do this for years post stuff like this without bringing up how they did in years past.

Ultimately, his “Salad” model was significantly more accurate than other projections of the 2017-18 season, both those of industry experts and those of other statistical models. On average, his predictions were 10.9 points off from the actual results. The next best model was nearly a point worse, which is a fairly significant margin.

First projections of the 2018-19 NHL season are in and it’s bad news for the Canucks

Good summer for Troy, he got bought out by the Flames and now lands a contract with the Panthers.

The top 5 point producers from last season not currently on a NHL roster.

Rick Nash
Mike Cammalerri
Daniel Winnik
Scott Hartnell
Mark Letestu

Which of these guys will get signed do you think? Which are you going to be "retired" by December?

Two of them could wind up on the Jackets at some point.

Letestu has a 2 year 2 way deal on the table from the Jackets, and has a PTO in Florida. If he doesn't get a deal in FLA, he is expected to come back for depth.

Nash is considering retirement due to concussions, but he and his wife have moved back to Columbus and he is working out with some of the Jackets players. Might just take a majority of the year off ala Mike Fisher.
