I downloaded some recommended updates from the Linux software center, including a new kernel that isn't compatible with this older machine, and it froze up.
Took me a while to figure out how to boot it up using the old kernel, which was still in the machine. Now I need to uninstall the new one.
Bottom line: if you have an older computer using Linux, and it runs fine, DON'T UPDATE IT.
Seems to be the case on most of this shit.
Everytime I install an update on my ipad or phone, something gets fucked up.
Best to just leave well enough alone I suppose.
