I guess they wanted to break Reiger's streak of picking 35 straight players in the draft from North America?

I am still fired up about the Devils getting Larsson. Last year was a fluke and they have been lacking a stud on D for years. Devils have a solid core of young players with a ton of cap coming off the books the next 2 years. Loving the direction they're heading.

The Sabres do need more bigger, physical players, so I guess this pick is alright for right now.

I guess Pittsburgh has a good hockey system... I need to start paying more attention to prospects and such...

So awesome! As I've stated previously, we're seeing the fruits of Mario's labor just now. Youth hockey getting big here. I know Minny has this (not sure how many other NHL teams do), but we have all the youth jerseys displayed at Consol (as we did at The Igloo), and we're seeing a few outdoor high school hockey games each year. Sweet as hell.

Really good for you guys. From what I know about Larsson, it seems like a perfect fit in terms of organizational needs.

Yea, I guess a lot of these guys in the draft have been in the Burgh system. Impressive.

Getting kids interested in hockey is one thing. Keeping them interested as teens is another.
