Umm... initial reaction is that the Sharks overpaid just a little...

Apparently this isn't the only kind of draft happening in the San Jose front office. They must be drunk as hell because even I can see that that is a terrible trade.

If you're scoring at home, only 3 out of the 17 teams so far have congratulated the Bruins on their Cup win

Sharks biggest weakness in the playoffs was their D.
they addressed that, but geez that's pricey.

good for Minny.

I like Setoguchi a lot... He is a little inconsistent, but given the right players around him he is a force.

Yeah, Setoguchi was a bit TOO inconsistent and takes entire games off... so most of us Sharks fans were OK with the 3-year, $9M deal he just signed this week if and only if he fixed his work ethic a little.

But I still think Dougie Wilson overpaid... Coyle is going to be good too... and a high pick.

All that for Burns... Yes, Sharks need defense but still... :L

Maybe I'm crazy, I like the trade by the Sharks. I think Burns in the right situation could be an elite defenseman. Setoguchi is a quality player but there are others like him, and a Sharks 1st rounder is a 20 something pick, nothing special. I like that move for the Sharks.

Yeah Sharks gave up too much. Like I said on the SJ board, I can live with Gooch and Coyle, but not the first round pick also. Too much for a player who may or may not play the entire season.
