one thing about drafting a winger is to look at complementing eP40 in 2 years time when they are ready (cause we know NO ONE taking that contract anytime soon)

I think about the 2007 draft more than I should, what in tarnation was Dave Nonis thinking when he choose him at 25? what indication did White give that waste a 1st round pick on him.. Thank goodness Mike Gillis fixed it by trading him for Christian Erhoff

my son played in a tournament with Lakovics cousin this weekend and Habs have been all over Lynden. lots of communication so much so that the family has had to remind the kid that the Habs havent drafted him yet lol

one to watch for the 2027 draft ... Brock Cripps from Victoria. 2009 year drafted 2nd overall by Prince Albert in 2024. Smooth skating dman. Hockey IQ off the charts ... not huge (5'11 for now) but hits like a truck (as my son can attest lol)

I shouldnt bury my son completely (like Brock Cripps did!)

He had a great tournament ... 2nd leading scorer on his team in a tournament that had plenty of whl'ers, bchl'ers, zone and academy kids.

His team had 7 A1 association kids from Burnaby, New West and Cloverdale and the rest were house kids (none of whom put up points but played hard).

These kids all know who everyone else is thanks to the internet/instagram. In yesterdays game they played a team full of academy kids and won 8-1. It got real chippy. After goal 6 (which my son screened) he got into a cage pulling match in front of the net with the opposing d man. I wont use that kids name. The game was at matsqui rec centre and if anyone knows that rink its shallow with not many seats (6 rows maybe). As they were jawing back and forth being led to the penalty boxes, my son yelled at the kid "where are your parents? ... point them out to me (he turned to the stands) ... tell them theyre wasting their money putting you in academy
