Lets do this!
25 goals.
I was thinking if healthy and he goes for 25 and 25 that would be enough.
25 goals.
you've got it there. except you can take the 'a bit' part out. Kane is good, and full of potential, but he's essentially a little more developed and faster Brayden Schenn. To give up more that Brayden Schenn is silly, and from all accounts, the Jets are looking for Schenn, a dman, and a 1st. That's just so far off of what I'd give up for Kane it's not worth it to pursue.
IDK if my Pens had a chance to get Kane, pretty much everyone besides Sid & Geno would be on the table. Dude is a true game changer.
He is? Someone must have forgotten to tell him that then. He's averaged .67 ppg for his career, and his best season (2011-12) he averaged .77 ppg. that says he fills the role of secondary scorer to me. Sure he might improve playing on a better team, but I'm not giving up a ton of assets for someone who might improve drastically playing with better talent.
2013-14
Evander Kane - 63gp, 19 goals, 22 assists, -9
Vinny Lecavalaier - 69gp, 20 goals, 17 assists, -16
Kane is a game changer, and Vinny is being run out of town. Age and contract doesn't equate to that drastic of a difference between how players are labeled. (also keep in mind Kane has a 5.25 mil cap hit through 2018)

If we could get Kane for Schenn and a 2nd I want to do it as he is a natural winger and we are clogged in the middle. Plus playing with Gee he would probably net 30-35 ask Hartsy how easy it is to score with Gee setting you up.
As far as your analogy with Kane and Vinny that is dead on.
45. If there's a Philly player you tend to hear about in rumours, it's Braydon Coburn. Asked about that, Hextall said: "He's a big man who can skate. Not surprised people ask about him." Other teams say that's not a move Philly wants to make and will exhaust other options before considering it.
Lots of people dislike Braydon Coburn. To a certain extent, he suffers from Matt Carle Syndrome in this town: He plays a lot, he logs tough minutes, and he possesses the puck often, which means he's going to have a soft turnover every once in a while. Those mistakes then stand out, and we overlook the fact that 99 percent of the time, he's a really good defenseman -- one of the best the Flyers have.
Luckily, it seems like Hextall and Craig Berube and the Flyers powers that be recognize that. I mean, after all, people around the league want him on their team. It's the same thing with a guy like Sean Couturier. It's just silly to easily give up a guy that other teams covet so badly, because they covet him for a reason.
ah Patrick Kane, different story

I would be OK moving Kane for Schenn, and maybe a second if we had to. For the reason you stated. It would essentially be giving up 'super potential, solid contributer' at center for 'super potential, solid contributer' at wing. It'd be like the JvR for LSchenn trade. Trade potential where you have a surplus, for potential where you have a deficit. Unfortunately, that one hasn't worked out all that well so far.
Hey you know me I think that the JVR trade worked out fine as Schenn was our best defenseman in the playoffs and JVR sat home and watched the playoffs.
Plus the Schenn brothers can lay the wood to people when they want to. B Schenn more often then L. Schenn but both are good at it.
