When we traded for Bush, that ended any chance of us taking either Austin or Robinson.

THey absolutely need to find a way to get one of the top three CBs still. If they cant stop the pass, the DE will never have enough time to get to the QB. As we saw happen over and over last year! Taking a DE in the first is no big help if you cant complete the secondary and give him a chance to succeed.

Going to need a LB who is good in run Support. Lack of experience paired with a scheme that leaves gaping holes is going to require some help.

We have Houston and Delmas back and now Quinn as well. I am pretty sure we are already in good shape in the secondary. I would be more worried about how horrid our LBs are in pass coverage.

You only need one great DL to pressure the QB to cause problems. You HAVE to have four good secondary to stop the pass consistently. If the Lions didnt improve the DE, they still could have pressure with the DTs who are great. If they dont complete the secondary they will still continue to give up a lot of big passes and not give the DL enough time to get to the QB.

Remember, as everyone keeps pointing out. Todays NFL is a passing NFL. So that makes CBs even more important

Teams can throw underneath on us all day long even if we had the 4 best DBs in the league. Our DLs don't get their hands up to block passes and our LBs couldn't cover my grandma.

Arthur Brown as well would be great. We could also get John Simon and move Levy to the weak side

In the first two rounds (since 2000) the Lions have drafted....
QB - 3
RB - 3
WR - 6
TE - 1
OL - 6
DL - 5
LB - 5
CB - 0
S - 4

The Lions have had how many winning seasons in that time?
And you are happy with them following suit.... again?

come on guys. He was projected to the lions the past 2 months. He has tremendous upside. Plus, it was too early to take a guard. You can't critisize the lions for not doing what no one else would do either. DE was a more pressing need than CB anyway. 3/4 of our secondary is proven starters. That's a good enough start. Theres enough DB depth that we can get a Darius Slay or a Johnathon Banks in the 2nd round. You can't be dissapointed with what you see coming. Yea i would have rather have had milliner or cooper/warmack, But im not dissapointed, it was still a position of need. High Risk, high reward.

I would have rather have had L Johnson or D Milliner but it is not the end of the world. DE could have waited to round 2.

BTW.... In the first round alone, the Lions have selected every position.... except CB or S! The secondary is the ONLY area they have not used a first round pick on since the turn of the century!

Too early? a Guard went 2 picks later, and another gaurd went 9. Seems like 5 would have been fine for that

I J Jones slips to the mid-20's it would be great to see the Lions try to move up and grab him.

I still disagree that DE was more important than CB. There are four DL and four Secondary spots. We have three proven starters in both. But one bad starter in the secondary can hurt you a lot more than one bad starter in the DL!

I will be fine with Ansah IF they get a good CB still. But Slay doesnt work for me. Until less than a week ago, he wasnt listed as more than a third rounder to my knowledge. I am sick to death of the Lions hoping 3rd and 4th round CB will work out. We dont need that. We dont need a CB who just happen to get some hype in the last week. Trufant or Rhodes in my book!
