YES -- the Lions drafted Darko Milicic, I mean, Ziggy Ansah.

Well I am shutting down for now unless they move up and get Milliner, Trufant or Rhodes.

top 5 pick in the draft and the detroit lions select a project at DE who started 9 games total in his career.

My wife just pointed out he's wearing fucking 3D glasses from the movie theater without lenses in them...

Not sure what to say to that?

for all you dogging the pick I would show pause because this kid could end up being a real stud. Jim Washburn can mold players with the best of them.

I'll take it......A premium is put on Posistions.......OT and DE top 5 picks.......Thats why you never take a guard that early no matter how good he is......H

Not really thrilled either as I just don't see a big dropoff between these 3 DE selected so far and the guys that will go at the beginning of the 2nd.

Must be the coaching staff saw more out of him when they did the bowl game.

We really need an OT with the next pick. I am not comfortable with Hilliard as a starter.

Well, he's a lion now, so gotta root for him... but I'd prefered a legit OL upgrade, even if it is a OG, a guy who can play (barring the unforseen) as opposed to a guy who might be able to play if he gets good coaching ... naw, I grab cooper or Warmak.

Then the Cards prove why I am right by taking Cooper (guard) over Warmack....Hahaha......Sorry Arizona, someone is leading that ship into the rocks.

Defense!

There isnt enough film on this guy to say if he is good or bad. He is a good sized DE. I am glad we didn't get one of the smaller, pass rushing, DE/LB "versatile guys" like Jordan or Mingo. Ansah has the chance to be a good all around DE because of his size and speed.

Also we can get the "Ziggy Piggy" chant going at the games.

Cooper goes before Warmack. Got to say that I am not surprised as cooper is much more versatile. That's why I had no interest in Warmack

The good news is this will end the Schwartz era in Detroit. The bad news is the world will watch another talented Lions team get run all over.

Must go OL in round two. If there are no worthy tackles at that spot, then take Warford. Our starting O-line as it stands is probably the worst in the league.

DE and LT (not OT) has always had a premium in the draft because of monetary value. The size of the contracts were not worth other OL and such. That is not the case anymore. Now they should pick the best player that helps the team the most. No matter the position!

I think positional versatility is overrated. At the top of the draft you should take a guy that fills a specific position. In the first round you draft a player and know exactly how to use him.
