Mike Mayock will tell all the non believers. Lol

NFL Network's Mayock: If Browns want a QB in this draft, Jimmy Clausen is best choice | cleveland.com

"I do think he has the physical skill-set to be a top 10 pick the draft, similar to [Jets rookie] Mark Sanchez," Mayock said on a conference call Wednesday. "The question is what kind of kid is he? If you buy into him, work ethic, toughness and leadership, there's no reason not to take him. He's every bit as talented as Sanchez."

Mayock said he thinks Clausen, who visited the Browns last week, is "in play as a potential consideration for the Browns at No. 7. He's more in play [there] than I would've thought a couple of weeks ago."

k.

He was right about Clausen being every bit as talented as Sanchez though. :L :laugh3:

Speaking of Pro Scouts... When Atl GM Dimitrov was at the Senior Bowl, he sat down with 4 of his scouts, HC, OC, DC and discussed a list of players that they were interested in.... Dimitrov stated that not one of the aforementioned, including himself, saw the same thing in any one player as a whole for a scouting report. While there were some similarities that existed, there were more dis-similarities amongst the entire group from player to player. just sayin'.. Seattle Seahawks drafted Aaron Curry at the #6 slot, right ?

Mayock, Jeremiah, Gil Brandt (ex-cowboys gm before fuck-head took over) are a couple of the best out there.. Jeremiah worked under Ozzie Newsome along with posts at the Browns and Eagles

When speaking of Watkins, we are not talking about the most polished route runner and all the things that make the "perfect" WR. Instead, we are talking about an athlete and a difference maker on the field. He's not rated as high as he is just for being a WR alone, but for his ability to threaten a defense. Its not hard to figure out.

It's a similar situation with Evans. He presents match-up problems and these big WRs are very popular in this league. What he did at Texas A&M doesnt mesn that much as long as he proves himself throughout the combine.

I'll think for myself.

I might whiff on predicting Peyton Manning wins and losses but I nailed Stafford going 1st before the season was even over and when the "experts" still had them taking Oher at 1, correctly predicted the Lions drafting Delmas at 33 a few weeks before the draft, and Ansah last year.

I know my team way more than any of the experts.

All this talk about Dennard not being able to run with WRs at the NFL level. There is a guy in the NFL who fell to the 5th round because they said he couldn't run with NFL WRs. He is doing pretty good with Seattle right now and is the best CB in the NFL.

Intelligence, physicality and technique goes a long way at the CB position. Not a lot of instances where you are just having a straight sprint down the field each game.

If straight line speed was the end all be all for CBs -- Greenwood would be a stud for the Lions as he ran a sub 4.4 and has the prototypical size for a CB.

That guy who everybody agrees is the best corner, also tied for second in the league in PI's though. (Seattle led the league as a team also.)

True story: I'm the one who finally talked Walter @ Walter Football to change his mock to Stafford (he had them taking Jason Smith because he was convinced the Lions were moving Backus to guard) and Ndamukong Suh in 2010 when he was (still) convinced the Lions were looking for their LT of the future and had them taking Russell Okung.

This is back when I was on FB and was good friends with him. "Experts" = football fans with a lot of extra time on their hands to make websites. Sources? Each other.

They are definitely the most physical defense, so it doesn't surprise me they had a lot of penalties called on them. When you lead the league in scoring defense, rushing yards allowed, passing yards allowed and interceptions -- I have zero problem giving up penalty yards. LOL.

I know I wouldn't kick Sherman off the Lions if he wanted to come here.

I wasn't judging Sherman. Just pointing out some info. Detroit had 7 for 116. Sherman had five for 98 yards. Those around you affect your game, and how aggressive your game can be.

I find it funny how Calvin (HC Chan Gailey) didn't exactly have eye-bursting stats until his senior year and yet Watkins had to share receptions with DeAndre Hopkins for 2 years...Here comes the argument CJ is 6'5 235lbs... just saying when you compare his stats to some of this years receivers

Damn. If anything this is a huge red flag against Watkins imo. He basically caught screen passes 60% of the time and ran away from everyone. That won't work in the NFL where everyone is fast.

This doesn't worry me one bit, it is just Clemson's offense. Watch some of his games on you tube, the guy catches passes with his hands only and just plucks the ball right out of the air. This should be a no brainer pick for Mayhew if somehow he is available. The guy is a flat out stud and one of the safest picks in the entire draft. We would be lucky as hell to get him.

Watkins or Evans would help out Stafford tremendously. The best part is not having to look at Kris Durham anymore.

I can understand if someone doesnt like Watkins but to claim he's not a baller is crazy. The dude has flat out been phenomenal for Clemson even when teams knew where it was going. When there is a guy available like this, I'm sure other teams cringe at the thought that he will be on some other team. Teams like Philly, N.E, N.O or any offense built to utilize guys like this would love to have him. If he made it to 10, I bet the Pack, Vikings and Bears would be praying he wasnt the pick.

I can't so many would rather have Watkins than Barr. Regardless of overall talent (because in reality it is only slightly relevant. The cost difference between picking up a top tier OLB in FA vs. drafting one is greater than the cost difference of doing the same with a #2 WR.
The good thing is that with the draft delayed into May, any free agent moves should have been completed and we should have a real god idea of how the team will draft.

Do you not follow college football? Calvin Johnson played for Georgia Tech, who were a run first team, with an absolutely brutal QB.

Reggie Ball was Calvin Johnson's QB. His CAREER completion % as a 4 year starter is 48%. His senior year -- he completed 44% of his passes. In 4 years as the QB, he had a total of 57 tds passes to go along with 55 interceptions.

Comparing college stats is pointless, when so many teams run wide open spread offenses now. Put Calvin Johnson in a spread offense in college and what do you think his numbers would have been? Reggie Ball threw for 1800 yards in 2006. Calvin Johnson has 1200 yards receiving. LOL.

Having a bias so strong you can't even acknowledge the real name of the conference kind of shows that you are not the best opinion for this particular argument.

PAC 12 didn't have a losing record against any of the major conferences, went 6-3 in bowl games and ended with 6 teams in the top 25.

but yes, USC cheated.

I don't know about Watkins being only a little better than Barr. I really like Barr but I think Hopkins is the #2 player in the entire draft behind Clowney. Wouldn't be shocked if Evans runs a good 40 time and gets drafted in front of him though, may give us an outside shot at him.
