So after hitting it sideways last Friday, I played decently last night. After pumping one O.B. On #8' I re-teed and parred. Finished at 41 but played better than that score. Gave 6 strokes but beat my man. My partner who's playing at a 4 right now, played an 11 so he had to give 7. His opponent gets on a roll and plays his best ever. My partner shot a 37 and get this, not only did he lose, he didn't win a single hole!!! Dude also shot a 37. It was his best score ever.

Pretty tough to shoot two over and not win a hole!

Very impressive! I'm a little skeptical of an 11 handicap shooting 37 though. He should be shooting 42-43 with that handicap, but I suppose an excellent day is not out of the realm of possibility. For that reason, I like the fact that our league plays straight up.

Good stuff...#8 must've been a par 5....partner ran into a buzz saw it seems... so how it that scored...you guys got half a point?

Yea, but I've done that before for 9 holes - 35, 36, 38...at the time I was a 9 index, but I could see myself doing that right now and I'm a 13....I shot 39-40 last fall, and 38-50 this year already. Golf is a crazy game.

But I like straight better too...when I did play tourney golf...within your index slot (As, Bs, Cs, etc)...it was straight up. Say I'm an 18...the lowest index I would face would be a 15.

Playing in a Stableford scoring tournament on Sunday. Should be fun. Gross division, the sand baggers can have the net division.

Just a regular round with my buddy Sat...match with a few bucks on the strokes...probably the best weather weekend we can have...GA doesn't have many true spring-like (low humidity, highs in the mid 70s), but both Sat & Sun are ideal golf days...I may double dip if the wife doesn't have any plans for Sun.

Actually, no, our #8 is a par three. I was at four over on the tee, pumped one out, re-teed and parred for a double bogey 5. Then parred nine for a six over 41. I won my match and one of the three points, while my partner lost his point. The third point is determined by aggregate team score by hole which I didn't bother to figure.

A dude at my old club once shot a par in one. He OBed on a par three, then re-teed and holed out for par!

Ok...now I got it...3 pts on the line for each match.

Blew the tournament today with 4 double bogeys including two puts missed from inside 20 inches. Tough day. Can't remember the last time I had 4 DBs in one round. Stableford is a blast though. Makes everyone have to play aggressively

44-41...under 90...I'll take it and be happy.

Back not in the greatest shape, but helped me not to overswing I think...yanked 2 drives left OB, and 2 in the left Hzd, the other 10 drives were good...short game was much, much better overall...skulled 1 across the green and made dbl, but 8 one putt greens, 27 putts overall.

You're hovering around it...same for me last week...short game was great last round, but a 3+ on both sides killed my chances of break 40 for 9.
