Oh yeah they had a great time. Some of those hybrids are difficult to tell. Like a Walleye, Sauger, and Saugeye. I can tell the difference on most, but many can't.

Here is one of the Trout we caught.

I'm jelly........ :suds:

Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got about 30 more of those White Bass/Wipers (whatever they are) today.

Kept 4 more Trout, 6 Crappie over 10" (biggest 14"), and 3 hand size bluegill.

Used only minnow heads all day for Crappie and Bluegill. They wouldn't take the whole minnow.

No luck at all on anything using wax worms or power bait.

Skipjack = whipper???

Nope.

Wiper are a hybrid that cannot reproduce. They are stocked in your bigger lakes as just an aggressive game fish.

I think these are white bass because the biggest you catch are 6-7" best. Wipers get a lot bigger.

Everybody I've talked to at the lake, whether it be warm or cold weather months are stumped too.

I've heard anything from Wiper, White Bass, to Yellow Bass. LOL

They're fucking bait thieves.

I kept a couple of the 7" just to see how they fillet out.

Which reminds me, I've got a 5 gallon bucket of fish on the back porch that need to be cleaned soon.

Just havin' a couple beers and watching some football first.

Just a local lake called Standing Bear in NW "O". It's a Papio Creek flood control reservoir that was put in about 40 years ago. They stock it with trout in October, but it's got a bit of everything.

Standing Bear's just a good place close to take the kids out and keep them busy . It's actually hard to get them off the ice. They love it.

That's good. How old are ur yungins

9 and 10. Boy and girl.

I may be biased, but I couldn't have asked for better kids. They've been here since last Friday and it's tough dropping them off at their mom and grandma's tonight because I know it'll be their grandma taking care of them.

Whoopdie doo, fuck this gender biased state. They have no idea (or don't care) the emotional damage they do to kids.

White bass / Striped Bass = wiper hybrid

Yeah, you're right. I'm pretty sure these are White Bass, and the reason they look so much like a Wiper is that White Bass must be the dominant gene.

BTW, they filleted out just like a Crappie, Perch, or Walleye. Just take the rib cage out. White meat.

It would be nice to get some size on them though. I'll start keeping the bigger ones. Once battered they'll be 2 pieces of fish. We caught about 30 of them today. Probably 10 that were bigger than normal that I would have kept knowing what I know now.
