Oh man, the tone of this board has changed so much. I missed the Sparty game as I was out of town rooting for the daughter in what I figured was her last college vb game. Her team has been plagued with injuries and short-handed all year but they managed to beat a nationally ranked top ten team. It sounds so familiar.
Hopefully you dvr'd it. Questionable play-calls and some typical moments of WTF Tommy?
The D-Line gave Cook a lot of time to find guys at crucial times and gave up a few decent runs as well. They gave up 38 points. That's a lot.
However, when they had to get tough against 3 running plays in a row late, They walked off the field, tall. They've been an overlooked part of that win as compared to Tommy, Westy, and Reilly.
The team played hard. They won the 2nd half of that game. I wouldn't have thought that possible at the end of the 2nd Q down 14-17 and Sparty gaining momentum. With their backs to the wall the players found something.
There is renewed hope across Huskerland.
