I'm not too worried about Columbus. They basically have to get 5 or 6 points in their remaining games and hope we get 2 or less. If we win 2 of 3, they have no shot. What we need is the Rangers to lose.

I'd rather matchup w the Pens than the Rags.. I don't see us getting the better seed. I hate the fact of dealing w Lundquist for a 7 game series. I won't lose any sleep if Columbus moved ahead of us.

But there's still a chance if we were to fall back that we could play Boston - it's not worth the risk - I don't want them losing a few games late in the season just so they can play Pittsburgh - I want them playing well going into the playoffs and they should be making every effort to go for home ice - it's important and everyone needs to realize that

Yes. We can't just choose to play the Pens here. That's not a legitimate option. The odds of Columbus passing us yet still staying ahead of Detroit in the process seem pretty slim to me. We would end up not only losing games late, but also having to deal with Boston in round one. It's just not smart.

The only way to handle this is to throw everything we have into these last three games and try to get home ice.

As good as Lundqvist is, I think we have the means to get traffic in front of him and make life a living hell, especially across an entire series.

If we were ever to have to face boston and let me be clear i dont want to see them at all ,the first round is where i would want them because we almost saw them lose in the 1st round last year probably shouldve lost to toronto.

Except the part about the Rangers. Yes they are playing well but Vignault (sp) has a history of playing better in regular season than in the playoffs. With the very small team they have it doesnt really translate into a solid playoff hockey team IMO.

This is definately true for us because we havent shown that we could beat them on their ice. For other teams this doesnt hold true as the Rags are 19-17 at home and 25-14 on the road. Its kind of like they save their best home performances for us. So if we play the Rags home ice is super important.

I'm of course assuming we can win one of the two games this weekend, but we can no longer catch the Rangers for home ice. These ROW tiebreakers are turning out to be quite valuable.

I am more excited about what is come to here and what we can accomplish than I am worried about it potentially being a less than ideal matchup for us.
