That, I think is the problem - they're entertainers - well paid entertainers, who are trying to came across as "workers" being horribly oppressed.

Yes, I know they never said that, but to me that's the image they're trying to project - IMO.

I'm not buying.
Get to camp on time or don't - ever.

Well stated.....

fans follow teams,,,players come and go,,,,if Troy or Harrison or Big Ben were to switch teams are you going to switch teams with them or are you going to continue to follow the Steelers regardless of who the players are,,,,,,,,,,,,me I AM A TRUE STEELERS FAN I FOLLOW THE TEAM,,,,players will be missed but they can be and are replaced every year

yea in some ways .. but people do like to watch their favorite players .. example ; if you got rid of the whole steeler team and replaced them with a bunch of nobodys ..and all they did was loose .. in 5 weeks the fans would be calling for the rooneys and tomlins heads

But the owners are the ones who finance everything.

The players act like.the owners aren't Allowed to make a profit
The owners act like they are broke
9.5 billion a year there is plenty to go around

you really think that is going to happen,,,,,,,,,,,,,these guys play because they like the big pay check and it won't be long until they start missing them,,at least 75% of the players would come back..the rest can be replaced...................put it this way,,,if you had a joB that would pay you 3 million dollars over the next 4 years and you knew there was nowhere else in the world you could make that kind of money,,,,,how many checks would you be willing to miss,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,ME I'M PLAYING BALL

Agreed, but...........
They are employees, and have no right to tell the owners how to run their business.A NFL with scabs, would most likely be very boring, but the players don't have to play if the current offer on the table is not to their liking.

yea in some ways.. but the owners need them as much as the players need the owners .. and the owners have agreed on all these things in the past .. the owners agreed to free agencey they also agreed to caps they are the ones who helped create the monsters .. the owners also want winning teams cause winning teams make more money .. and the players are just doing the american thing bargain for their contract .. what is more american than that ?..

Misk, this is all true. The owners are as responsible as are the players for creating such a cluster fuck of a mess.
Outbidding each other to no end, an so forth.
I think this is why the owners are saying now,
Enough of the madness....

Look someone is going to screw someone in this so called deal. Happens everyday, why arbitrate? There is going to be changes and you can guarantee the owners will prevail! Especially Al Davis, he's not going to follow anything. Folks what we have here is failure to communicate. Players who have comparatively short carrers and owners who have deep pockets. I know who I will bet on.
