This will be our downfall. We're due for a regression. This is the year. This team will not make the playoffs. This team WILL lose to the Dolphins.

Tannehill is gonna have a field day on Thursday.

The only way the Bengals win this game is in a shootout. Whoever scores last wins.

I agree with all of this except that Tannehill will have a field day. He sucks.

Miami sucks. It's a place to go for free agents that like money, but don't necessarily want to try anymore. There coach is a bum..... Somehow being the coach while Peyton Manning calls his own offense makes you interesting..... Then you back it up with a bottom half showing with the Bears even though they played in a division where defense was optional..... But yeah, he's qualified to be a head guy. We're winning this game.

We'll have a small break, feeling okay about the team before they come out and lay two national television eggs against Dallas and New England.

I'm predicting a Dolphins win as well.

All the ingredients are there for a letdown.

Short week, at home, in primetime. Against a mediocre QB and team they are better than.

Mario Williams and Cameron Wake will be camped in the backfield the whole game. Ogbuehi is a bust. Why the league keeps drafting soft ass tackles from Texas A&M I will never know.

Can't wait to watch DeVante Parker light up Dre. We will have no answer for Landry in the slot. Wouldn't be surprised if Kenny Stills gets one deep on Dennard.

Oh and who could forget our non existent pass rush. Even Ryan Tannehill can shred a defense when he has enough time to update his Apple iOS back there.

Gentlemen,

The Cleveland Browns put up 24 points while MISSING 3 field goals. They also rolled up 430 yards even though they were starting their 3rd string quarterback and one of their best wide receivers just started playing the position. Miami is terrible.

we will win Sunday.

we have to get good stats so people can claim Andy Dalton is the best QB in the league statistically before he gets hurt and not able to prove himself in the playoffs.

Good news is, their defense is awful (Dolphins) and on short weeks for games on Thursday, it typically favors the home team. We'll see.

Rumor is, on defense, the players are not happy with Coyle or his DB approach. It was on full display this past weekend. Semien came in barely throwing the ball down-field, and yet early on the CB's were 10-yards off almost in a tribute to Artrell Hawkins in how far off the WR's they were. Once Coyle moved them up, they failed to have safety help deep and got burned. None more noticeable than when 8th string CB Chris Lewis Harris came in and lined up over Demaryius Thomas and got zero safety help over top. Who in their right mind lines this guy up over a #1 WR and expects it not to get blown up if you don't have safety help?!

Also, Guenther is going to have to start helping out this DL. They simply are not getting enough push up front to not blitz a bit more. I'm not saying he has to go crazy, but early on, Semien seemed to struggle with a few blitzes, and then....the pressure simply stopped.

That is not comforting considering we play on Thursday:scratch:

I'm pretty sure I made the right call - Miami is awful.

We didn't learn much about the Bengals in this game..... The D can still look dominate against shitty teams and we can still beat shitty teams. That's good I suppose. Though, outside of the Browns and (probably) Redskins, I'm not sure how many more shitty teams we'll play. I figured the Bills would suck, but they're at least showing some life now. I figured the Eagles would suck, but they've been very good. I figured the Giants would suck, and they probably do, but we play them on Monday night.... We're probably not winning there.

We need to see big improvement in these next two road games. If they start to solve some of their redzone and blocking issues, this could still be a good year. If not, I'm afraid they'll struggle to win 9.

The Bengals front office has always neglected the value of a good OL

we'll have a really good one for a few years, and then it turns to shit and they draft a new QB or RB in the first.

oblivious.

I think losing Smith was just a part of it.

You lose his veteran play at RT, Bodine still sucks, and now Zeitler has had a really rough start to the season. It's a combination of things that have plagued this OL. Then factor in playing against 3 of the top defenses in the NFL to start the season, and it doesn't make things look any better.

I think this is an old narrative. Quite frankly, it's lazy and tired, as well.

The Bengals have done well (outside of the Center position) to have a really good OL, and have had one for quite some time now, plus invested in it through the draft as well with recent picks. People are still talking about letting a guard walk from back in the mid 2000's. The last other great OL to leave the Bengals? Whit has stayed, and he's been by far the best OL. They drafted Zeitler, and Smith, and while Smith was solid, he wasn't great and I don't think anyone was sad that he left. The one constant has been the inability to find a center since Braham left, but to say they've neglected the value of a good OL is not true.

The problem with the line is that center is the 2nd most important position on the line, and its always been last on the priority list.
The reason Steinbech is brought up so much, is because it took them years to recover from losing him, and if/when (probably when) Zietler leaves, the same thing will happen.
Put a shitty guard next to a shitty center, and the whole line (and offense) will suffer.

I agree with this.... You can't have it both ways. The Bengals invested their first two picks of the 2015 draft in lineman. Some folks were pissed about this strategy, but they made it a point to continue to have talent on the line. I don't think either guy has been a homerun, but you can't say they aren't interested in the line.

I'm pretty sure Zeitler is proof of this idea..... He's been awful this year. I hope his agent doesn't really want DeCastro money for the guy. If he does, why should the Bengals pay him?
