Is it that they don't care or are they just overhyped?!? Also, it's interesting how little credit they give to Canada who dominated the game yesterday and with a little better finishing could have had three or four goals. The only guy I saw giving Canada its due was Thierry Henry.

I was watching Footy Prime which is a Canadian podcast I believe - Anyway, it's believed that Phonzie tweaked his hammy in the game versus Mexico and that's why he was questionable for the 3rd place game versus the States. As you know, Phonzie's agent blasted the Canadian team for Alphonso starting the game and tearing his ACL, but I think it's just a coincidence (it was an awkward tackle and fall that led to the injury).

I think nothing will come of this.

Shit happens and he injured himself again with a different injury. Nothing to do with his Mexico issue.

And I while the game meant very little I think it was important for them to play together and play well because they won't get many opportunities to play as a unit before next summer.

No worries, my friend - Their fate was sealed as soon as I saw that they brought in no strikers of significance in the summer transfer window. I had high hopes for the Sport Republic owners, but they really shit the bed this season. It certainly looks like the three promoted teams from the Championship last season are heading straight back to the Championship this season. Meanwhile, teams like Bournemouth and Brighton have discovered the south coast secret formula to not only stay in the Premier League, but even have some top 10 finishes and Europa League play.

I just took a look at the Championship table, the top three teams are currently separated by two points with Burnley leading the way followed by Sheffield United and Leeds. Top two are automatically promoted to the Premier League and after Leeds lost out to Southampton last season, you gotta know they want to avoid the playoff and get one of those top two spots. I think some people forget how big a club Leeds is.

There is a lot of wasteful land use at the PNE.

But it’s very valuable land.

And the Whitecaps aren’t.

Unless the team is buying the land from the city (and there is no chance on earth they can afford it) this is a no.

The only sports team moving to the PNE that makes any sense is the Canucks into a new barn at the Coliseum site and that is because Frankie can sell the arena site for about 3x what it costs to get the land at PNE (or develop it himself when things are a bit rosier on the real estate front).
