In 2022 Italy had to beat North Macedonia to get to the final playoff match for the World Cup and blew it.

Italy just lost to England, are 3rd in their group and their next match is against North Macedonia. If they don't beat them and Ukraine hold them to a draw Italy's in the playoff again.

Italy didn't look very good yesterday. At least if they are in the playoffs they'd be guaranteed a home game in the first match and they;d probably play a significantly weaker team. But like you say, that's what happened last time too.

Well, this is not good...

Brazil forward Neymar tore his ACL and meniscus while playing in a World Cup qualifying game, his club Al Hilal confirmed Wednesday.

Neymar was in tears after injuring his left knee in the first half of Brazil's 2-0 loss to Uruguay on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old Neymar will need surgery. Al Hilal did not say how long he is expected to be out, but it can take six months to a year to recover from ACL injuries.
