I say get rid of VAR if they will retroactively give out red cards based on it. That takes a lot of the gamesmanship out of head butts, nut taps and sucker punches when the ref is out of position.

I believe the scope of its use is anything “game altering”, so red card-worthy fouls would indeed fall under that category.

Of course, this was already the case long before VAR, about 11 years ago…
