Okay, sure. Whatever you say.

Truth. Watch PTI and Around the Horn for 5 minutes. It is guys like them who vote. Their knowledge is mostly superficial.

Clearly. Westbrook was very inefficient last year, but his triple double average was impossible to ignore.

Are we talking "very inefficient" compared to his perceived value, compared to other players in the MVP race, compared to his own prior seasons, or just overall?

His numbers were probably overvalued but I'm not sure it's entirely fair to call him "very inefficient" last year if we're talking about him compared to everyone in the NBA. But I'm willing to hear the argument against him.

You do realise everybody on these boards are "casual fans", right?

So very inefficient might be a tad unfair, but 42% from the field with 5.4 TOs a game is pretty bad. If not for Harden last year, it would be single season NBA record.

Not much to argue, those numbers speak for themselves. And yes, I am really comparing him to other "great" players. Comparing Westbrook to guys like Emmanuel Mudiay doesn't make sense.

Understood. I just wanted to make that clear.

@Mecca is the only female poster on SportsHoopla worth debating basketball with
I had to think about how to phrase my respond to this post.

@bksballer89 , you and your Heat brethren are some of my favorite people on this site and I thank you for the kudos.

But......

This comment comes off sexist as fuck.

Left me EMPHATICALLY state, I don't think you meant it that way.

I think you are talking about two specific women on the NBA boards and not women in general.

Stating names would have just kept the nonsense going longer.

But,.....it looks bad at first, and second, glance.

What do you have against LAD?
That's the homie.

But, they butt heads often.

Those two just have a cyber-personality conflict.

On the site that we came from, she and I used to fight EVERYDAY.

A page later, we were good again....lol

I don't think it is Sports rivalry related.

But, the 3 posters here that constantly have issues with BKS happen to be Lakers fans.

Honestly, I don't get it.

He's one of the easiest posters to get along with because he's the same all the time.

He pulls people on the carpet, when need be, friend or foe.

Gotta respect that.

Still casual fans.

Just because I watch Greys Anatomy, doesn't make me a surgeon.

You are making assumptions about people you know nothing about. A casual fan to me means somebody who watches for fun, but has no significant background in the sport. That does not describe everybody here. Maybe you, not everybody.

Casual fan.

So, your definition of casual fan is anybody not being employed by an NBA team?

By that definition, I guess Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and all those guys are casual and too. They aren't employed by NBA teams.

Mike Kryzewski is a casual fan too.

Chuck, Kenny and Shaq are former players. Different thing.

And yes, coach K is a casual NBA fan too.

Ridiculous.

Still has nothing to do with my original position that the average NBA award voter doesn't have a deep understanding of the game.
