Tell me at what point who know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this movie will suck.

They are rebooting the Mummy franchise with a completely new story.

Alex Kurtzman is to direct the new beginning (Star Trek Into Darkness, The Amazing Spiderman 2).

The movie will be set in present day.

The new movie and Van Helsing will share the same universe.

Universal announced that they had tapped Kurtzman and Chris Morgan to develop all classic film monsters which include Frankenstein's monster, Count Dracula, The Wolf Man, Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Invisible Man, Bride of Frankenstein, and The Mummy.

Sofia Boutella (Star Trek Beyond) is cast to play the Mummy.

Our hero is played by Tom Cruise.

I couldn't stand the Brandan Fraser series, so I have zero interest in the reboots.

I actually enjoyed those movies. The family element really held it back as far as the ceiling for it was was concerned. I have always enjoyed action oriented adventure movies...obviously Indiana Jones is the best of them but National Treasure and The Mummy are still pretty watchable. As far as video games go the genre is why Uncharted is one of the best franchises ever for PlayStation.

I couldn't stand the Nat Treasure movies either.

And Russell Crowe.........:wtf2: :lame: :L

Tom Cruise is often so smug in his roles it ruins the movies with the stink of his ego.

.......at least Crowe appears to be playing a "bad guy" as Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. But I do agree!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is a huge endeavor to undertake just to reboot the immortal classic Monster Squad.

Maybe it's because I came into the movie with such low expectations. I normally don't like Nick Cage.

I was a kid during the original series and loved them. Not the 3rd one because, well, it sucked. I have no interest in seeing reboots on normal circumstances, but I definitely have 0 interest in any Tom Cruise films especially Mission Impossible Billion: We Just Said Screw It Make Another One and People Will Pay.

Holding out hope. After the Hulk, Fantastic 4, Blade Trinity, Punisher, Daredevil/Elektra movies I wasn't to high on an Avengers series of movies. Seemed all they could get right was X-men. Maybe this has hope. I really did like the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen myself, so maybe.

I saw a movie titled "The Mummy" starring Tom Cruise was being made. Was wondering if it was associated with the previous Mummy movies. Less interested now that I know it is. Lack of Rachel Weisz hurt the third film, and it will hurt this one as well. Daniel Craig is one lucky man.
