Apparently cespedes just made a near 300 ft throw to the plate to get kendrick with the angels trying to take the lead on Oakland. He misplayed the ball and then hosed Kendrick but Sosh challenged and the replay said he was out. We will see waiting on the video.

Now, the worst part is, there are gonna be a ton of pitchers available this offseason... and this will be the first offseason in years that we actually have a good first round pick. So now, knowing JD, he's gonna be hesitant to sign ANY FA, never mind a lester or a scherzer. If this team is gonna make a splash, it will likely be through a trade because we can't just keep giving away our picks especially in a year where we are likely to be around 10 or better

Dove tailing into Justin's posts/point regarding how often we give up runs immediately after we score. Over the past 8 games the Rangers have scored in 21 innings. But we've given up runs 13 times in the following inning.

That sucks.

From the DMN:

“It hasn’t been a very good homestand for him,” said of Martin after the game. “He’s just battling out. We are all trying to get him to separate the different phases of the game from one another. Sometimes he takes one into the other.”

The “separation” the Rangers seek? It seemed Tuesday, that took a pair of terrible at-bats back out into the field. He struck out twice, missing Tom Koehler curve balls by kilometers.

Frustration over the at-bats may have led to him easing up way too early on what should have been a single to center and Marlins leadoff hitter Christian Yellich turning it into a double and eventually a run in the top of the sixth.

“I should have gone harder,” Martin said. “My first thought was to make sure I catch the ball. But I’ll learn.”

He is 4-for-22 (.182) and is 6-for-33 (also .182) over a longer stretch. He took a bad route on a ball in the previous outing by Tuesday starter Colby Lewis, then didn’t go all out with his leap, allowing for the ball to fall for a game-changing double. And he made the last out of an inning at third base on an ill-advised steal attempt in what was then a close game against Baltimore.

“For sure, I can do better,” Martin said. “I have to keep working.”

Wouldn't it be protected?

This from JD:

“Mitch is going to get a second opinion on the ankle and one of the things he’s going to have done is basically the same surgery that (Geovany) Soto had in spring training that he came back about two and a half, three weeks later from, so we have a pretty high confidence that he will come back from the relatively minor surgery of the two. He’s going to have a second opinion on whether he wants to get the second, bigger procedure done. His ankle has been bothering him for a while. There’s some suspicion that some of the hamstring problems, maybe even some of the lower back stuff that Mitch has dealt with and fought through and played through may be related to it. He’s not definitely going to have that surgery, we’re going to get a second opinion and Mitch is going to make a decision. But there’s chance if he doesn’t get it that he’s going to be back here inside of a month.”

Your spot on with this. We need to see how L.Jackson, A.Asher, and A.Gongalez finish up at Frisco this this year. There is a good chance one of them open up 2015 in the starting rotation. Jackson seems to be the most ready but Gongalez looks like he could make a real strong push as well.

I see both Gallo & Chi Chi as late 2015 callups. (if anything).

I see LuJax being promoted to AAA sometime this year (soon)...then possibly called up later to MLB later this season. Which would probably put him in contention for a SP spot in ST.

Still not sure on Asher... not sure if he will be promoted to AAA this year or not.

Not disagreeing but lately our young players being called up have bypassed AAA.

And which one has successfully made the jump?
They all need(ed) more polishing IMO. But alas, injuries prevented that.

Like with Gallo - there's no point in rushing them up.

Wasn't an argument just a fact.

So I have something to cheer for now. We need yo suck bad enough to be one of the 10 worst teams.

Tread lightly....... I suggested we tank after Fielder and Harrison went down and got tore up for it. I think our luck is so bad this year that we deserve a top 5 pick. Would've been nice if Wash kept Ogando up here.........

I have an idea. Let's call Kirkman up and put him in the starting rotation.

This is not tanking, just how we are this year. We play every game to win. Last night a perfect example.
