Referring to pitchers..

True, our pitchers have struggled that have come up from AA. Perez moved to AAA first and was doing well until his arm blew. But actually even our AAA arms are struggling now and some of that from yo-yoing them around.

Exactly. I was kind of being sarcastic, bit like you said....this is who we are. It makes it easier for me to handle bad play and losing if I know there's a light at the tunnel. The light being a top 10 protected pick.

No. Did you see me say that it does? I don't want to have to give up our first round pick when we sign a FA pitcher. If it's top 10 it will be protected.

I actually wanted him not just for this year but for next year to bolster our team as the DH and let Moreland go. In other words to help us as a part of hopefully a complete and healthier team to compete for our division.

Assuming no "major" trades are made with the Rangers' Top Prospects... their lineup & rotation could look like this in say 2016...

1. Choo
2. Odor
3. Beltre (DH?)
4. Fielder
5. Gallo
6. Alfaro
7. Choice
8. Profar/Elvis
9. Martin


1. Darvish
2. Perez
3. Chi Chi
4. Holland
5. Jackson


I'm not sure what would happen with Tepesch, Martinez, A.Asher, Profar/Elvis, etc... but I kinda like that rotation.

1yr. Pro-rated portion of 12 million. So roughly 7-8 million I believe.

That's not really much of an investment for us to have passed on IMO.

I think we got more insurance money back from Prince/Harry to have more than covered this.

I'm not bemoaning the fact we didn't sign him. Just saying it wasn't much of an investment - either in dollars or time - and would have given the fan base something to be encouraged about anyway.

that's a losers mentality. More top 10 picks don't make a splash than do.

Did we really expect anything different. Let's just put Beltre, Rios, Andrus and Choo on the DL and bring up all AAA/AA players to join up with the ones we already have and get ready for next year. Martin stays because he needs the work. Kidding of course.

Unfortunately, high draft picks - in all professional sports - pan out about as much as not. Actually probably don't pan out more really.

Pick a sport, and you'll see, there's guys drafted in mid/late rounds, or sometimes not drafted at all, turn into juggernauts in professional sports. While a 1st rounder/can't miss prospect falls over dead.

Predicting by definition, is a very iffy thing.

I agree with ya.....except on Choo.....really, he may need to be on the DL.
