Yea, ALR. The Defense DEF took a hit. I still think the trade was a bad one, short-term because the Lakers were finally putting things together on a number of levels. Like any draft, we will know more in the future.

Just watch and don't overreact, folks.

Rob pulled off this blockbuster, he'll add a C at or before the deadline.

You think Rob is done?

Reaves most likely gone now since Luka and Bron both handle the ball and score a lot....Rob will be looking for a C on the trade market.

Claxton, Capela, etc.
If he trades Reaves as well, he is an even bigger idiot.

They need all the scoring they can get with the lack of defense that will be played.

I am thinking that Pelinka will re-visit the Kessler scenario to see if that is still available. If Reaves (and others) goes for Kessler, perhaps that would be the final piece. Maybe. Again, we shall see.

Well, you were right about the DFS/Milton for DRuss trade, DJ. So we shall see if you are battin' 1000. Of course, you know me. I am always at the pessimistic end of things because unlike you, pretty much everything I touch turns to shit, eventually. lol.

that trade made no sense. Doncic can't stay in shape and he doesn't play a lick of D. One of the lakers problems was their defense that was the main killer. Doncic just adds insult to injury there.. if they traded him for having an alcohol issue, sending him to Hollywood sure as hell won't help him. LOL

Lebron/Doncic are both ball dominant. They can't do much without the ball They just stand around. . And neither guy has heard of defense. . They should have at least went for Curry to try and snatch that final title before both Lebron/Curry retire and then try and get Wembenyama down the road or something. What does Dallas get out of it either? AD can't stay healthy just like Doncic and hes already 32 on the backside of his career. Just dumb all around for both teams

Plus the Lakers gave-up Draft Capital: A Number One in the future. On the surface, this trade was just bad for both teams. It will only improve if the playing behavior of the incoming Dallas (so-called) star changes or compromises his tendencies to mesh in conjunction with the Lakers' present (so-called) star's compromises in playing habits to facilitate a better hybrid result for the team and what both really want to happen.

The likelihood of all of that occurring is dependent on both Doncic and James willingness to sacrifice their own importance on a minute-by-minute basis to get the better result together than either could achieve alone.

We shall see if that happens in a relatively short period of time or if it drags on incessantly and eventually wreaks a slow degradation of the affect and winning capabilites of the entire team.

Teams was just starting to play really well too.

Heck of a time to throw a wrench in everything.

And Doncic won’t even be available to play until All Star break.

Going to be short handed for a while.

I hated it when I first heard it when I woke up this AM but have come around on it.

James is close to retiring and AD is 31. Doncic is 25 and if they keep him and extend him he is the furure.....

Yeah, makes sense. James will probably retire after this season or next season. Doncic is 25 so he can be the leader for the next decade hopefully.

Ahhh man I hope not. AR15 is my favorite player on the team. He's a cold blooded killah!

The Dallas GM called up Rob and said he was interested in AD and offering Luka.....no way Rob says no to that knowing Bron is close to retiring.

Yeah... And AD is 31 and playing well but you never know when he could start slowing down.

Yep.

And I am on the record saying I hated this when I woke up at 5am my time yesterday since I loved AD on the Lakers....

But, I have come around to this being great for the Lakers future in the post-Bron era.

Sure, I like Hillbilly Kobe also.

But, Luka, Bron and Reaves? That's 3 guys who handle the ball a lot....and yes I know Bron is playing off the ball more but he will still handle it when Luka is off the floor....

Reaves is on a great contract but we need a big now that AD is gone....we also need some more defense.....

Time will tell. I've asked some of my friends about Luka and they all say its a win for the Lakers but he is a big baby.

I hope we keep AR15 but I understand. Maybe we can get a good draft pick for him or something.
