Apparently, a huge reason Irving wants to be in Los Angeles is assistant coach Phil Handy. Handy and Irving have a close relationship from their time in Cleveland.

There certainly is a lot of "hopefulness" seasoning the Lakers moves these days. We all hope it is not the same hopefulness that was in play a year ago when a couple of GMs/player brought in a host of geriatric "all-stars" to win a championship.

Could play Gabriel for 15mpg as a backup C and then you just need to fill in another 15mpg at C. Maybe split that between AD and James.

Think it's THT, not Nunn. But, most likely we'll get Harris, not Curry. The Nets want to unload Harris.

Yea, I suspect it will be THT who just is not going anywhere from the perspective of on-the-court playing performance. I wonder if it is going to be one or two First rounders. If they don't get Curry, if I were Pelinka, I would drop the Second First Rounder (assuming that is what it is) to a Second Rounder. But we shall see what it is. I suspect this trade will be done by the end of next week. It will either go or disintegrate. The Lakers know they are the only ones after Irving so they have some leverage but it is not necessarily asset drive per se. The deal is more relief driven. The Lakers finally rid themselves of Westbrook and the same goes with the Nets and Kyrie.

I think it gets done in the next 24 hours so then the Nets can get the KD trade done also. That one could take 4-5 days.
