It's going to be a long season, but we only improved from the sweet sixteen team that could have gone futher had we not lost to UK, losing some non-skilled players (that we were grateful for because they saw the program through tough times), and replaced them with top 75 talent. We also are returning all our starters and important bench players, Creek is one of our best players and was injured last season. So I don't want to sound like an entitled asshole, but it's going to be a disappointing season if we don't at least make the Final Four. I think we may run into issues having this deep of a bench, and players may transfer, that's really my only worry going into the season. Which isn't a bad one to have I guess.
I also saw a stat that the number 1 preseason team in basketball had received a number 1* seed 27 out of the last 28 seasons, so I think preseason polls in basketball are much more accurate than football, and that's a very good sign.
It was either number 1 or at least a 4 seed, which is a big difference, I should search that
And just cause I'm really pumped and can't stop thinking on this pill I'm gonna add I just got my hands on season tickets so I am fucking pumped. I was hoping to grab some tickets to individual games like UNC with friends before I realized them were going for 300-400 each, but my buddy is transferring and he's giving me his season tickets for free!!!!
I'm not sure what to make of Tennessee but I could see them making the tourney. They were picked last but finished 2nd in the conference last season. I think Bama should be a team to keep an eyes on in the SEC. Grant has been bringing in a lot of talent.
Yeah honestly UT is too big of a school not to be good in something, and since it ain't football it might as well be basketball.
As for 'Bama I'm just not a believer, they made an appearance or two in the top 25 last year, but they have a tough schedule this year, I see easily 5-6 games they are going to lose and they could drop about 10-11 when it's all said and done. Not respectable in the SEC...
