The last 2 movies I saw were the best and worst I've seen this year.

The Railway Man was excellent. Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman. It's about a WW2 vet in 1980 who confronts his Japanese torturer.

Under the Skin was horrible. Scarlett Johansson has several nude scenes, mostly totally nude. Do you know how bad it has to be to have Scarlett in the buff and be considered horrible? The movie makes no sense and has no explanation at the end.

All I can figure is that she plays an alien that seduces men and then does them in. I think she absorbs them.

More male nudity than Scarlett and it's all full frontal. So if you like erect penises, this movie is for you.

Girlfriend wanted to see Divergent last night, so I took her to see it. Went in with no idea what it was about, had kinda ''The Hunger Games'' feel to me. Was a pretty good movie though, i'll definitely be checking out the next one. Mainly because she is obsessed with the books. lol

August:Osage County - Drama with very dark comedy elements about a family of sisters and their men visiting their mom after dad disappears and eventually shows up dead under mysterious circumstances(suicide is strongly hinted). Much family drama ensues as decades of history is rehashed. Meryl Streep plays the druggie mom with a funny and very mean streak. She's fantastic as always and the only reason to see the flick (reason enough really. She's great.) Chris Cooper is also very good as Streep's BIL.

Watched "Transcendence" yesterday. Not a great movie, but an interesting one to discuss. The most interesting thing is I'm not sure who the good guys were or the bad guys. It's all about morals and ethics.

Wolf of Wall Street. Who'd a thunk Wall St sharks engaging in relentless scheming and drug fueled debauchery could be this boring, especially with Scorsese & Leo running the show behind and in front of the cameras. There were a few good laughs but it was mostly the same thing over & over & over ... & over. Just tedious. Definitely not Scorsese's best moment... might be his worst. So this one was up for best picture huh ? Oh and it was 3 hours that seemed like about 6. Very disappointing.
