Raiders blacked out this year yet? Don't be mad bro. Your team is headed to LA

Not sure, attendance has been better this year and I get every game in HD on my 60".

Now back to the subject.

What cracks me up the most about this Kaepernick/Niner 3 year resurgence? They've recently titled themselves "The Niner Empire". First of all, how do you call yourselves an empire when (1) 99% of the fan base exists in SF (2) they've never once taken over an opposing teams stadium as do the Raiders, Steelers, Cowboys, Yankees or BoSox?

Niner fans are the epitome of fickle. Hell! These same Kaepernick jock sniffers are the same ones whispering they want Alex Smith back after they literally threw him out.

I've never seen the Raiders take over an opposing stadium.

All the trolling aside no one knows what the long term potential is for Kaepernick. He appears to be going through the sophomore slump, but add the injuries that also appear to point out his run last year was as much a product of the good players around him as it was anything he did.

The reason there is a so-called sophomore slump is teams in the NFL make adjustments and any time a new wonder kid comes in and gets the attention of DC's they (gasp) adjust to it. The really special players are adjusting at the same rate, but it is far more common for young QB's to not be able to make those adjustments that well in their second seasons. (See Cam Newton)

Just as Newton appears to be coming out of his slump from last year and has been making great adjustments to the pro game, CK might also find more success next season. He will have to work harder in the off season to study what defenses are doing against his team and how to counter it. He needs more practice at read progression and more film time.

CK has great throwing speed, dangerous run ability/speed when flushed, and has a team full of good weapons when they aren't injured.

I laughed when SF fans were telling us he was the best young QB in the league and I laugh now when I read them saying they need to draft a new QB next year. He is far too young to know how much impact he may have as a starter 2-3 years down the road.

:agree:
No one can deny Kaep's natural athletic ability but it remains to be seen if he's got what it takes upstairs to take his game to the next level. He has all the raw tools to be a great QB and I'm sure San Francisco has given him all the resources he needs to excel. It's up to him, we'll see.

I'm more than happy to see a division rival's QB turn out to be a bust but just as a fan of the game I was looking forward to the NFC west being dueled out between two top QBs every year as well.

People said the same things about Cam last year. He was a gifted athlete that doesn't have enough upstairs to make the transition into a quality NFL starter. This year he is on the move to prove them wrong. He still has a lot of room to grow before we can call him an elite QB, but he is improving.

It will be sometime next year before we see if Kaepernick can also grow and mature

Nothing wrong imo

From an outsider point of view...Harbaugh is doing the same thing to Kaep that he did to Smith...Smith's biggest problems was he was a turnover waiting to happen. To but it bluntly, I think Harbaugh dumbed down the reads and let him use his athletic ability more...turnovers went way down.

Maybe at some point Smith took ball security to another level and just stopped challenging the DEF downfield...Kaep comes in and makes a few big plays running and down field with his arm and boom...he was the new kid in town.

Now that all the DCs have seen tape on him...he needs to take it up a another level. I think he'll be fine...hard to grow up and be the MAN as a 2nd yr starter (not even a full yr at that) on a playoff caliber team.

Then you've never been to a Charger, Cardinal or Dolphin home game.

Calm down with Cardinal games.

The only time the Raiders play there is preseason. I have been a season ticket holder for many years and I never attend those worthless preseason games so if "Raider Fans" want to suck up those tickets, have at it.

I will say, the Raiders do have a large following, but more for the image as opposed to the team. I've talked to many a person wearing Raider attire and they couldn't name 2 players on the team. It's the thug image that attracts a huge portion of Raider fans.

Maybe that's true in 'Zona, but I can guarantee you that is not the case in FL, as I have been to games (regular season) in Miami, Tampa, and Jacksonville, plenty of very knowledgable and decidedly non-thug fans, in fact the last Miami game I attended, Raider fans were a solid half the crowd, very cool, peaceful, but dedicated Raider fans, no fights, no stabbings, no gunfire, huh, go figure.

No doubt the Raiders have a huge following. Much larger than most teams. And I am sure most of the fans are decent. But there are thousands of Raider thug fans across the country. It just comes with the territory.
