The Jagr signing gets EVEN better

I wouldn't retire Recchi's number as a Pen. I don't like retiring numbers for teams you didn't play most of your games for, and Recchi played more games as a Flyer than a Pen.

I'm not sure I'd retire his number as a Flyer, either.

I am not saying I would necessarily retire his number either. But it would be higher on my list than Jagr. When he left there was a video when he returned water under the bridge type of deal. Welcomed back after the dying inside for what appeared to be a swan song retirement only to go to the Flyers. Not something that should be rewarded.

Jags won't have his number retired. Sorry. If this is his last year in the NHL, there's just no way. IF it were to happen, it'd be 20 years down the road. Pens fans were JUST going to turn a corner with him, but you can't rebuild after this...not for many years at least. I'd retire Ronnie Franchises! I love that man!

I would retire Recchi's # well before I would even think of Jagr's

I compare the situation with Jagr closely to the Lindros situation with the Flyers.

Both left on bad terms,as per management or fan opinion.
However,you can not deny their accomplishments with their respective teams.

Jagr is a lock for the hall of fame,and I feel Lindros should,and will get in.
Both of these guys deserve to have their numbers retired by their teams-Flyers/Pens.

I figured the same prior to this offseason. It would be like Lindros talking of a return saying his heart is in Philly then signing with the Pens. Definitely the straw that broke the camels back imo.

My mother is a life long Flyers fan like most of my family. She hated the Lindros trade. In fact she still does. Peter Forsberg was a bad word in my house for quite some time in those days.:
